Yeah, the pilot still works there but only a couple of days a week. Ironically, he was in our jump seat during the entire debacle. He didn't have much to offer.;)

Wasn't he the "apu sheriff", put up in the tower with a hawken rifle and a sniper scope? He could read your nametag from 2 miles if you weren't wearing your hat; so people stopped wearing nametags.

The 737-900 is a POS. The thought of riding on one makes me want to vomit. I hope we don't waste $$ on those turds.

I thought we were all happy with the plan of used MD90's - $8M/copy vs. $80M.

I had 167 sob (160 pax, 6 crew, 1 js) on it yesterday - that's one big-ass DC9, and only a few seats less than the 737-900.

Btw, V2 was 169 kias.

Is it just me or does the 90 kind of sluggish in the 20's?

Albeit every time I fly it it's a) summer and b) HEAVIER than any 88 I've flown at that altitude.

Either way, it looks cool, flies great and is a hell of a lot better than that POS 737-900.

Not just you - we weren't setting any time-to-climb records for sure, but the ol' girl was hot (94F, ISA +14) and heavy (155,000#). It looks so cool, though. Almost too cool.

I flew the fluff and the superfluff for 9 years - never realized how fatigued and miserable I was until moving to the -88 (noise/lack of room - I'm 6'4" and 205 lbs).

I'll leave the maddog when you pry it from my cold, dead hands. ;)

I'm really hoping this is just a ploy to get Airbus to come down on price or provide better delivery slots.

I've only got a couple weeks left on the 737 and it cant come soon enough!

I snagged a picture of FTB right after reading the bloomberg article... the HD camera brings out more details than his usual pictures of himself:

I hear ya. Not leaving either. Although I kind of think the 732 would've been fun. I think the 738 would be fun, just don't want to bid it for QOL reasons.

I'm 6'5" and 250. It's funny how that extra inch requires an extra 45 lbs.

:D :o

You need me to paint a picture for you? I can do that. I'm growing tired of my pre Alaska merger pics of places I hope to visit once based in Bethel.
