Correct - but we only have 10 of them which means about 90% of the fleet is configured with 160 seats.

So to answer your question Buzz, I think having social media will be a riot.

As far as relaxing any SCOPE provisions I am fine tuning the wording for my text box but it will read something like this:

Holding the SCOPE line is of paramount importance. If we concede 1 seat or 1 pound of the current SCOPE restrictions I will personally write a check to the DPA for $1000 and volunteer as a DPA recruitment Officer. Essentially I will dedicate myself 100% to bringing DPA on property.

I recommend all the so inclined APC Bubba's to include a similar type statement.

And I don't buy the whole DAL pilots versus SWA pilots productivity argument. Our pilot group does a lot of different types of flying... so it's hard to compare. Maybe you should look at the revenue we produce and then try to say we shouldn't be paid as much! I think, for whatever reason, you are making excuses for mediocrity and using a good scare tactic to try and deflect the argument.

The data is easily available. For 2010 they averaged 52 block hours per pilot. Delta was at 42. Total pilot costs per block hour flown were 698 at SW and 690 at Delta.

Also understand that those numbers that are reported on the Form 41 are not rationalized for our international three and four man operations. They are flight block hrs not pilot block hrs, and for that reason, the number are not painting the apples to apples picture.

wilco.

on the subject here's a couple of points why I think it should be even pay for the NBs:
  • First what are we basing pay on? Is it strictly mission such that the 777=744 pay even though the 744 seats 124 more people and they both do the long haul flying? If that's the case, why isn't DC9 pay equal 88 or E195/E190/CRJ900 pay equal 9/88 pay?
  • After retrofits 100% of the MD88/MD90 fleet will seat more than the higher pay A319/A320 fleet.
  • 738 and MD90 have equal seating but the 738 pays about 7% more or about $10K if you fly 75 hours a month. If the 738 pilot flies the 23% smaller 124 seat 700 they get equal pay. If the 90 qualified pilot flies the 7% smaller MD88 they take a pay cut.
  • The average seating for the 88/90 fleet when you total all the 88s x 149 seats and all of the 90s x 160 seats is 152 passengers. A320 fleet comes in at 138 and 737 at 156. So 152, 156 and 138. All different pay rates.
  • If rumors are true that we purchase every MD90 outside of the Saudi MD90s (which we evidently don't want) it's possible that the MD90 fleet will be larger than the 738 fleet.
  • Ah but the 738 and 320 fly further and the 767 and 764 fly further than they do and so on! True, but don't forget on a typical, sigh, first or last day of an 88 trip you'll fly 745 passengers on a single duty day.
I don't want to bring anybody's pay down, I just want to bring all the NB pay on property up: 737=A320=MD88=A319=MD90=738=D95.

What text box?

I have a similar sentiment.

How can I do a similar thing?

Well you know asking for SWA domestic scope is shooting for the moon. Guess we aren't interested in ASKING for that IN THE OPENER.

Can we start an L&G office pool? Pick the date when "What are you willing to give up for that?" switches to "Are you willing to strike over that item?"

I missed this from earlier.

Thanks, Carl.
