Anyone know what a "CG Management System" is?

I don't know about CG Management on this thing, but on the MD 11, there is a system that moves the fuel around, from the wings to the tail after take off during climb, to get the CG back to 32% at cruise, then it runs the fuel back to the wings for a 25% CG for landing. Unless they add a lot of plumbing, I don't see it happening on this "Upgraded" DC9.

Timbo, I bet you're pretty close to the truth...

The plumbing is there since the fuel has to go to the motors anyway.
I bet there's a little surge tank in the tail that get filled up for cruise...

I'm sure you don't want to see retirements at Delta for the same reason those guys are pulling the chute at AA. It doesn't look good, they're burning almost 300K/month and have about 5.6B in the bank, do the math...

And the company is looking for concessions, does that ring a bell?

Cheers

This pilot group IS willing. Our union is NOT. Our union rules mandate that we endure a multi-step process of discussions with our regional competitors BEFORE we even give our opener on Section 1 to management. The end of that multi-step process even includes the ALPA president getting involved if our "discussions" with our regional competitors don't prove fruitful.

Belonging to this utterly conflicted union of ALPA is going to be very difficult to make any gains in scope. We will have to fight ALPA every bit as hard as management to even hold the current line on scope. I'm all for the fight, but it's definitely going to be a fight.

I know I tease, but I'd love to still have every fluff jet and 733 still on property. If this JT8 enhancement works, how bout we get those 732s back and slap in one of those new glass cockpits (you don't even have to rework the overhead) and make it the all new 732, 737, 738 and 739 category!!!!

Oh I know it works, it's just obnoxious to do run ups and the soot all over the nacelle is annoying. Unless you fly the C208, where you repaint the right side of the fuselage with soot.

Although I'd love to fly the PT6 Duke and Baron

They put the First Class lav tank in the tail cone and give everyone free drinks.

Half prior to top of descent they hand out two day old Moe's burritos in coach and lock the aft lav.

Also helps reduce turn time from 47 to 18 minutes.

OR...just tell all the Buffarillo's they have to work in the back during cruise!

I can hear the briefing now, "All you Big Gals, Do NOT come foreward of the overwing exits until we put the gear down, or we won't have enough fuel to get to LAX..."
