Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Carl
Alright, one analogy... Delta pilots are like the owner of a company who is losing jobs and losing money and his sales force, ALPA, won't say why but says it's the new norm, it's good for you, we have your best interest as well as your competitors best interest at heart because unity is like a tide that lifts all boats (but sorry those boats need your dock now so we're tugging you out to sea) thanks for the millions!
And we blast that company for looking for a sales force they can talk to and works only for them?

Whether he truly believes ALPA is the way to go or not is immaterial. The actual facts of the article is all that matters. The piece clearly laid out (IMO) how broken the MEC is. The fact that the MEC is trying to close local offices and add unelected power brokers just further shows the MEC bureaucracy's desire to make the LEC reps even more irrelevant than they already are.
That is clear to everyone, but the MEC bureaucracy disagrees with you. They're happy with things just as they are and could care less what you or your rep thinks.
As has been said here many times, recalling reps accomplishes nothing. That is because the MEC bureaucracy and national bureaucracy is permanent, you and your reps are not. Your opinion to them is meaningless unless you're telling them how much you agree with them.

Any opinions, or has anyone tried, Financial Engines service to manage your 401K?
I looked around last year for a service to manage my "portfolio*" and every one wanted me to come out from my 50% cash position and go 100% into their fund families. That did not seem like such a hot idea and so far I am down about 7% for the year on the balanced funds. The best investment of the year has been a 4% cash loan to myself.
It is amazing how poorly the 401K has performed. On the other hand my taxable play money invested locally has done quite well.
Anybody doing anything that works without constant babysitting?
Retirement for us is going to be a lot different than it has been for our parents (and Leo and Michelle
)
* Akin to my daughter's hamsters talking about their "Mansion"

That you state this to FTB says a lot about your attitude to Delta pilots. You think we know nothing, you know everything, and that we should should up because of it. This is the attitude most of us feel from ALPA, and we want them out.
FTB,
How do you expect anyone to have any faith in DPA's ability to do anything if they haven't even tried to work within the system to change their ALPA?
I don't buy the it's unfixable crap. 3500+ pilots and you can't even write a resolution or recall a rep whose position you don't like?
Hint - there is a lot more to running a union than licking a stamp, hitting enter, and saying you've done your part.
In the vacuum of pilot apathy work still needs to get done, and if their is not adequate representative data decisions still have to get made with the best extrapolation available.
Unfortunately some have used this apathy as a pretext for dismissing what input there is as not representative. They need to go back to the line. The Yang of that is DPA is just another form of pilot apathy

What's being asked is for "change" to work within a system that is designed to prevent change. A simpler way to say it, it's a trap.
