There have been some great inputs posted here for the contract survey. Anyone know if they have been consolidated in one place? Any of you deep thinkers willing to post your survey inputs here or PM them to make sure I got everything? (Especially the free-text inputs - that seems like a very direct way to make our concerns known).

Thanks!

Heard there was a big all CPO pow-wow in ATL this week. Guessing it has to do with next years flying plans, hiring, etc. Anyone have any info from the meeting?

Let's hope it was about hiring and not the opposite!

The biggest thing I saw was that the company is watching the retirements closely and theyre planning on hiring 7000 pilots in the next 12 years. That's just to cover retirements, growth would +

1/2 of the Delta seniority list retires in 15 years. *Currently 600 pilots over 60. 2400 over 55. 3700 in the 50-54 bracket. *

Not a problem as long as we have secret Joint Venture agreements and charter flying that we don't compel compliance with. Air France / KLM, Alaska, and DCI have us covered.

Last decade it was RJ's. This decade it is 380's, 777's, 737's. One we broke unity it became just a matter of negotiation.

I thought I read somewhere recently (might have been here?) that Delta just became involved with a midwestern university's flight training program/pipeline somewhere?

Every letter to the editor in Hustler magazine always started with "I'm a student at a small midwestern university on Spring break . . ."

Maybe these students will be as lucky.

When I was going through UPT in scenic Del Rio, TX, they put out a 'survey' to see what they could do to cut down on attrition and make our lives better.

On my survey I said if they want to eliminate ALL SIE's and cut way down on the washout rate, all they have to do is give every student a New Porsche and a Nurse! It was chasing those two things that was causing most of the distractions at the time.

Too many guys spending too much time going to Boys Town and San Antonio, in search of fast women and cool cars!

Delta is solidly profitable in a terrible economy. Can't imagine why you would even entertain the idea.

What JV flying/charter flying is not in compliance with our PWA?
