MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Pinnacle Airlines posted a third-quarter loss Thursday because of rising compensation costs and other expenses. The loss was almost $3.5 million, or 19 cents per share, for the quarter that ended Sept. 30. For the same period last year, it had a profit of $9.4 million, or 51 cents per share. Revenue rose 5.8 percent to $319.8 million, from $302.3 million a year ago. Pinnacle said its net loss would have been $1.7 million, or 9 cents per share, if not for special items. Analysts surveyed by FactSet had been expecting a profit of 1 penny per share on revenue of $311.1 million. Pinnacle, which flies under contract for Delta Air Lines Inc. and other airlines, said it spent $2.9 million during the quarter, most of it on flight attendant bonuses that were awarded under a new labor contract. The expenses also included severance payments. A new pilot contract that took effect in February boosted pilot expenses by $4.9 million for the quarter. It said it expects to be compensated for those higher costs by way of higher rates to be paid by Delta beginning in mmid-2012. |

It is getting expensive and cumbersome to have these FFD contracts. |

I don't remember, did we get a text from ALPA about the AE last time? (I'm talking about the ALPA notification system for bid results, etc).
Why Yes, I believe we did! I forgot all about the texts. And we should get one tomorrow morning about bidding for Dec. opening too. The trips are in open time now if you want to see what's what and start writing down all the stuff you wish you could hold. ;) |

I saw this same article and I am not sure if that is Pinnacle BS to investors or not but it is not good. Also mentions higher CRJ200 costs and from my recent readings those will not be around and DL certainly does not want to pay more for them. It is all in the details of the contract I am sure.

How? Trip reg should have that trip paying above 16 hours. (58/3.5)
One of the many things that need to be fixed. |

It's got a red eye in it. The way the trip is constructed, there are only 2 duty periods as opposed to using a calendar day method. Loads of these in the 7ER categories.
One of the many things that need to be fixed. Yeah but...Trip Rig is from first sign in until release for the entire trip...are you sure it's 58 away from base? Sounds like it's less than 48, maybe only 38? |
