Pure BS. Delta pilots do NOT average 87 hours per month. I don't care how many management people you call, we don't average 87 hours per month.

You got a point there. Flying 1000 hours a year only averages out to 83 hours. I guess if you add in credit time, GSs and whatnot, you might be able to average 87, but that would take flying like an FA to get there.

Somebody gonna get a time out!

They know it's not true. Right now, it's all about discrediting the SWAPA contract and mischaracterizing what's in it. It's DALPA's only hope to bring in the weak TA that has undoubtedly been already promised to management.

I'm not debating one union over another. I'm discussing our upcoming Section 6 which is probably the most important topic that could ever be on a thread devoted to what's going on with Delta.

And then...

Most of us are able to remember your previous posts and see your double speak here sailingfun. It's just so amazing that DALPA is stooping to this level of activity. The constant lowering of expectations, mischaracterization of SWAPA's contract, and purposeful omission of Air France pay makes you guys look like you are literally being funded by management.

Like I've always said, we'll have to fight DALPA just as hard as management if we are to have any shot at an industry leading contract. Darn shame.

We really need a swa pilot to chime in on how their work rules enable them to work 12 days and get paid $240K on average. Or is it simpler than that?

Even the most skilled trip parkers and greenslippers have to contend with FAR limits.

You've done far worse than that sailingfun. You've intimated that DALPA's opener won't be anywhere near SWA and it will be because it's what the PILOTS want. Classic defeatist attitude that you and DALPA are trying to get everyone to adopt before Section 6 begins.

I don't know why you do these things. All the flight pay loss in world wouldn't allow me to do what you're doing.

Mostly it has to do with their incredible minimum day pay and other minimum guarantees. That's what allows them to fly well under 1,000 hours per year while being paid well above 1,000 hours...while doing it all in about 12 days every month.

Great stuff.

Off to bed now. Got a really early get up and a very long day ahead. Hope I don't have to go through 30 pages tomorrow evening! :D

So far it's within bounds, albeit barely, with a couple exceptions which have been taken care of. :)
