I agree, there are no good jobs unless you know someone. There is a good corporate gig in ICT with Sprint that is out there, but that was the only one I saw that would be something I would go after.

Exactly. I've been flying nothing but red eyes to the east coast from LAX. Every flight is full. No non-revs, just paying pax. If we're not making money, what are we asking for fares?

I don't get it Nu, why are you targeting ME?

That way we wouldn't have to get it ALL from ACL. Seems like DALPA has been strangely silent about this. Or are they not wanting to give mgt any "F" ideas? :)

Stick around and you'll learn.

Hey buzzpat,
You keeping those CA's in line? I know you kicked my a.. :D

Talking about loads. My wife came with me on my TOE requal to Munich. She, as well as 2 Revenue Pax got left at the gate while we left completely full!

Funny story actually. I spent 6 hours in the Sky Club waiting for her while she partied with John Van Zant (sat next to her) and the rest of Lynard Skynard in Business Class from Paris. She is now a big fan.

If I recally correctly, there was part of the CPZ agreement with NWA that prohibited the sale of CPZ until there were 10 or more DC-9 replacements on the NWA property. Does anyone know if that survived in the JPWA?

Also, in another dark chapter of NWA relations, the company PROCESSED every letter of resignation that they received from furloughees. Some of the junior folks tried to get NWALPA to work something out with management, but some senior sh!ts refused to budge on it, taking the view "no one helped me out when I was furloughed, so deal with it".

Some people are going to be ****ed off their whole life, and there's nothing you can do about it.

The senior guys would't really didn't care, it was probably just legal that made that determination.

Hey BigDaddie...I miss you bud! Yep, keeping the LAX CA's in line. Its a tough job, but somebody has to do it. ;) At least until I get displaced to the DC-9 in DTW, or MEM, or wherever. Then, I'll be their devil on their shoulder. Are you still flying out of LA?

Also, if they cannot do that, they can shift flying from NWA to DAL which they are doing to balance them out and furlough in order of the Arbitrated list using the pre-merger lists. In effect it can be done!

Wow. If that happens, that would be incredible. We North guys have known for some time that our staffing was skinnier than the South side. The North side was given no credit for that in the SLI, because the arbitration team didn't think that would be fair. Now you say there's a possibility that the relative "heaviness" on the South side could be "balanced" by shifting North flying to the South so that we could furlough from the pre-merger lists in order to better "balance" the furloughs.

Yikes.

If that happened, you can COUNT on an arbitration suit from the North side IMO.

Carl I did not say anything about heavies. I am talking in broad terms. It would make sense for them to balance everything out. Just a little thinking out loud. (There is not info to back that)

I know that is business usual for you guys. That is fine. We will all get through it. Next few years will be difficult. It will IMHO define our group. I know I would prefer to stand together. I do not want to see us split apart and pitted against each other by management. That is business 101.
I hope we are above that.
I expect a few arbitrated settlements. That is just business.

iceman49 06-12-2009 05:48 PM

65...curious, what do you mean business as usual for you guys? Not trying to start anything...but nothing has been business as usual since the merger. Thx.
