Correct, although I'm more concerned with eliminating one position than I am about turning one CA position into an FO position. Either way you get rid of one CA position. But replacing that seat with an FO seat is preferable to eliminating the seat completely.

I had assumed that the ULH relief in the new FTDT mirrored the 9+ hour rules whereby the block time was a hard time at throttle up with no "legal to start" nonsense in it. Pushing the envelope to get an extra hour out of a 3 man crew wouldn't make any more sense than it would with a 2 man crew on an 8-9 hour hard time block day. High risk, low reward. One 777/747 canceling on the other side of the world and its ripple effects would cancel out an unfathomable amount of "savings" from dropping the 4th pilot on that percentage of flights, CA or FO.

You are correct. For this reason, most of us ULH folks are aware of whether on of our legs may dip below 12 hrs (usually not a factor). We dont want any of that history coming back to haunt us.

The fact is, I want all of our legs to exceed 16 hrs...they just don't right now. When we got the 777LRs, they put those on the looong legs. Now they schedule them in just like the ERs.

Timbo, can you feel me chanelling Mumbai directs again? 17:55 baby!:D

I've been a commuter out of CHA for a couple of years. I end up driving 98% of the time. The flights are always full or oversold on the days I try to commute. The agents have told me over & over that the first flt of the day goes out late, alot. I absolutely love the area. The drive is just under 2 hours from my driveway to the employee lot.

And the AS code share abuse too.

On the bright side as we continue to subsidize Republic/Frontier that helps their bottom line, which translates into cheaper large RJ lift to put more pressure on our narrowbody flying.

Still trying to figure out why DALPA is rolling over for this. I've asked the question to my reps...

Only reason DCI will be hiring is the FT/DT rules. They need to start now to be in compliance. Oh and many of the pilots I know at these carriers are going to Emirates or another carrier. They see the pile falling down over there and want out ASAP.

I know the Comair guys are scrambling for something. The bad times have forced all of them to figure out what they want to be.

So, I downloaded the app for our cable company. Fun to be across the country talking to the wife while changing her channel from "say yes to the dress" to "southpark." She has no idea whats wrong with the TV.

Should I use the "parental control" to block the E Channel completely?

Is this a yes or no question or a philosophical question?:D

Brocc, what do you have to say about this sort of behavior?
