Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
BTW, just mention retirement healthcare benefits isn't critical to your stage in life. No wait, better yet, AF/KLM and Alaska scope giveaways don't matter to you either. Something just to goad them.
Yep. That message would be our scope is insufficient at all levels. 255 DC-9-10 replacement jets flying around outside our list, AS pillaging anything that touches the west coast at will and DL well below the AF/KLM/AI balance with no end in sight plus all the future JV dangers like VA and the Chinese carriers.
I'm also noticing a pattern of volatility emerging from the semi-company quasi endorsed rumor mill. CP's, LCA's and other folks in high(er) places are running the gambit from "impending hiring and awesome early outs" to "endless stagnation and be greatful we aren't furloughing...yet" and back again. Not saying the ones spreading the rumors are "in on it" necessarily, but they are getting their info from somewhere and those sources only give them what they want to give them knowing full well it will "leak". PsyOps 101.
Get hopes up, smash them to the ground. Repeat until no one knows what's going on. Finally settle on bad news at the critical time and the sheep will beg you to settle for less just to get it over with and avoid "the worst case" end of the bell curve of possibilities.
Would it be premature to identify this as the U. and D. in FUD from the age old playbooks of failed management teams that consistently run great airlines into the ground?

Like I said last night, it depends on how DAL wants to play this. If they do not care about constructive engagement, they will prove it. The same old tactics will do nothing but further entice this group. Not a move I suspect they will want to make if they want to be a first mover in industry consolidation.
With all of the rumors and open ended statements in the crew planning news, I figure at this point in time, it is better to wait and see what they actually do with the AE than worry about what they might do.
Powerball is $250M.
My Powerball plane...

Because I want a takeoff that looks like this, where your passengers think "well I thought we were going flying but evidently we're all about to drown":
I think the control movements just appeal to me, very MD88 like.

Then call them out. They think it's ok to just yank the ladder up with them? Let them know they're a prick if they do it. I have.
Doesn't it allow guys to fly more than they otherwise could? And if so, doesn't that skew the numbers of required reserves and whatnot? It isn't the biggest factor in staffing but it impacts it to some degree. Not to mention its pretty shady. We have way too much to fight for than trying to preserve all the little micro empires like trip parking, LCA buddy bidding and the narcotic pursuit of touch drop vacations. That's a lot of fat concentrated in very, very few places. High cost : low benefit.
Yeah, they are picking up anything and everything in ATL. I'll be really surprised if I fly at all this month. Been chillin' at home on long call all week, playing a little golf, so I'm not really complaining, just hope I don't get bumped. My kids are starting to get irritated because I cramp their style when I'm home this much.
Wasn't there questions on the survey about returning to the bow wave system? I'm sure the company would balk at that but our staffing in every category would increase wouldn't it? It'd be a lot of movement, at least I think it would be.
I'm sure they'd give back scope before they'd allow manning to increase. Manning to increase. Manning. Sorry Tim, I don't mean to say Manning.

It is the best staffing neutral solution I have come up with that meets the needs of guys that want to pick up time but can't due to rotation length.
Thoughts?
As it was explained in the C44 LEC meeting today.
Speaking of Identifying folks based on their posts... for some reason on my last trip, I got interested in this. Carl posted something narrowing his status down, and I found myself, for no apparent reason, looking at the seniority list and category lists looking where the intersection was for "possible Carls". Unfortunately I found like 25 folks that could be him-OMG is that DTW 744 category tight on hiring and retirement dates! Like everyone flying it is from a 1 year window of life!
Anyways, it was actually an enjoyable hour of looking at seniority and hiring/retirement dates for a category I'll never see. There's something about the stalker biz that everyone digs heh... you know it's true.
It just occurred to me that I might have met Ferd the morning of the 7th going to work, before boarding. PM me if that was you, always need to figure out the local guys!
Hmm, one more point. Last 3 Capts I flew with were happy with 20% and "scope just isn't that critical to my stage in life". Getting a bit bummed that scope may be a complete FO cause...

Show them the growth markets and what another Virgin Australia deal could mean without section 1 changes. Gets their attention quickly.

Then he said it dawned on him he gave the lecture while laying in bed. Day 5 and he hadn't done anything but shoot squirrels, played on the internet and kicked the soccer ball around.
