Opinion. Your assertion then is that everything D-ALPA was able to negotiate for the group, outside of Section 6 negotiations was for their own interest and not the interest of the pilot group? I hope you're not following your contract or the new LOA's then, because that would mean you're falsely using what was meant for the D-ALPA guys alone, and not yourself or the other 12,000 of your colleagues on the list. :rolleyes: Then get behind ONE GROUP to get that accomplished. I'll fully support an "in-house" union, or change in bargaining agent, during a non-negotiating period. That's a great question!! I'll be the first person holding the DPA pizza parties in every crew room, at ever base possible if D-ALPA doesn't come through on this contract!! The main reason was to make sure everyone is unified, behind one agent, when they go to management asking for us to have a SWA-esque contract also. It is from this reality that I drew my conclusion that DPA supporters want to be ALPA supporters - they have however lost faith. This has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the DALPA volunteers who's goals for the pilot group are pure...like the SOT or the bid monitors or any number of other groups. It is clear that DALPA will be negotiating the contract. Everyone HAS to be behind them for that. If you cannot understand how we can have unity for that just because people have sent in DPA cards, well, I cannot help you. However, the administration on up through national have a long way to go before they have my trust. I do not believe the motives of many among them are pure and instead are often self-serving or ALPA the corporation serving. |

Carl As I stated above, and to obey 80's wishes, I'm done arguing with you about this subject. The DPA drive DOES NOT garner unity within our group. No matter what you and/or Scambo say, having 4400 pilots express their "lack of support" with our bargaining agent, in a time when we all need to be behind one common goal, is a danger path to go down. Oh, and I just read the Chairman's Letter again. (It's dated October 17, 2011.) I believe you're wrong and we will see the opener, AFTER they have been shared with the company. The letter doesn't say anything about "never" seeing the opener. You're making that assumption, and skewing it as fact because of your interpretation of the Chairman's Letter. GJ |
