The fact is though, AMR BK is a game changer.

That is if you compare AA to DL indirectly. Directly, DL has already shed plenty in BK that AMR still has (pension, work rules, no PBS, etc), and DL is making a lot more money than AA. DL should be compared to a healthy carrier just getting stronger. AMR BK was a foregone conclusion for the last couple years.

How many years at Delta would that take right now? 15? 20? And he is flying a 737. All domestic. How long until openers?

12year 777A makes about 15k a month on reserve.

And...where exactly do we (Delta) compete, head to head, against AA any more?

We pulled out of DFW a long time ago, and MIA, and ORD, and LAX and BOS and and and...

So while Delta's management will be happy to tell you, "AA is in bankruptcy now, we have to keep our costs down, to compete with them." that is exactly what AA's Mgt is telling them! "Delta went through bankruptcy, we have to have shed your retirements and we need PBS to compete with them..."

It's always been a Monkey see, Monkey do industry.

Many years ago Bob Crandal said, "This industry is always being led by the Dumbest competitor."

So...who's turn is it this year?

Just attempted to have the Emirates conversation with the wife. Apparently my, "It'll be just like Peachtree City on the beach" sales pitch lacks polish....

Dude, you need to get her over there, take her to the mall, let her go skiing! Then take her to the beach, all in the same day!

And if you want to pitch the PTC angle, say, "It'll be just like PTC, without all the a-holes."

Same day? How 'bout same lunch hour.

Well, you can ski for 2 hours for about $70, then go to the beach to warm up.

I'd hate to try to squeeze lunch in there! Flat Stanley loves it!

But he loved drinking and dancing in Sticky Fingers in Hong Kong even more...

Sorry Carl, I never saw the question. I don't read every post. I have however many times posted my thoughts on scope. In fact had you bothered to look you would have noted I made a post with my thoughts on scope just two days ago.

Bar's question wasn't about what you think about scope. The question was whether you had any tidbits on what the MEC thinks about scope. We are forced to ask these questions of people like you who appear to have strong inside knowledge of the MEC, because the MEC is STONE SILENT on scope.

Now Carl, Back to my question? Which Rep, Which Base?

I don't know who Bill heard that from. I wasn't there. But it sounds EXACTLY like the chairman at my base. The former vice chairman (who stepped down due to bidding to NYC) changed his speech depending on the audience. The new vice chairman has been non-committal thus far.

Eeeeee-yup!

Yet we still have guys only willing to talk about how AMR is a "game changer". The troubling fact is that we have too high a percentage of pilots at this airline that are afraid of their own shadows. I truly believe they are in the minority, but it's still too d@mn high.
