Pass travel benefits here are better than most places. I think the UAL guys pay $10 per leg domestic and $50 international plus the taxes. The only place I know of that is nicer domestically is JetBlue because they don't oversell their flights so there is almost always open seats and all travel is free. The UAL guys also just did away with buddy passes and got to add one more pass rider on their list....I kinda like that idea since our buddy passes are already more expensive than just buying your buddy a ticket on an LCC of their choice.

I would do away with buddy passes if I could get my in-laws added.

ACL,

I know the numbers could probably be fine tuned, but I don't have time right now - I am actually in the middle of two weeks of MIL LV and just trying to keep up to date.

So would I. Or be able to add two more pass riders and change them once each year during benefits enrollment. It would do away with all the buddy pass embargo fiascos and agents dealing with non-revs who have no idea what is going on.

Many/most don't have in-laws so buddy passes are gret for friends, coisins, etc...

I know, that's why they don't have to be in-laws. UAL guys can add one extra pass rider that can be anyone you want and change it every year. Buddy passes are more flexible with who uses them, but the last three times I've had people who wanted a buddy pass the cost of the buddy pass was not worth flying standby so they bought tickets.....one time they actually got a ticket for $40 less than all the buddy pass fees!

I really don't care much about it and I think what we have is just fine, I was just saying I thought it was a good idea to have more pass rider options and do away with buddy passes. It would be interesting to see how many people use buddy passes now with the fuel surcharges coming back.

Sure, but even for most people in that situation, 4 or even 2 free passes (even at S4) would be better than 8 at today's prices.

50 bucks irks me to, but the fact is that they could really nickel and dime us on more than just the annual fee and the customs taxes. Personally, I want nonrev benefits codified in our PWA so that they cannot change them on a whim; fees, allotments etc.

Some here may remember when the IRS proposed charging us personal income taxes on our passes, using the full coach fare as the imputed value. This was about 30 years ago, and a vigorous lobbying effort with Congress fended it off. It probably helped when Congressmen realized that such a plan might make some of their perks taxable too.

Baby, come on now, what are you complaining about? Look, the Jon demanded some extra help out there for you but don't be upset. Yeah, they're cheaper, and they do stuff you wont but they're going to send you more business so they're all good! Besides, who wants new and young?

And that Alaska girl, look, she ain't got nuttin on you baby! Just trust me the only thing she's got on you is that she's free... and she's got a niche market that loves what she does. I mean you're good in all, but she does it better. We thought, I mean they thought they might like to let her turn some tricks on your side of the street. Along with that French girl... Gosh, I wish I could tell you the kind of rates she gets!

Pay raise?? What kind of raise!? For what you're doing? I mean what you do is great! I'm just surprised you think it deserves a raise? Look, you expensive as it is, have you seen what the girl from Forth Worth is charging? And I said Fort Worth, not Dallas.

You see baby, If I ask the Jon's for more they're going to run off. You have to keep your expectations in line with reality. And the reality is, they dig those new young ones. They like having a lot of them. You're a little fat lately, did I mention that?

Keep everything in house? Please! Don't be telling them what to do. And why you asking me questions in the first place? Who's in charge here? By the way baby, let me ask you a question... you make a big tip the other day?

Problem I see is they could change all of this tomorrow. It needs to be codified in the PWA.

No, no, no, no, no, no. For many of our fellow employees this is the main benefit for working for the company, i.e. the company is not going to make waves in this area or it risks serious employee disgruntlement. Now, you go and put it in the PWA and the next thing I'm going to see on the contract survey is what am I willing to give up to keep my non-rev benefits? Don't feed the animals, please.
