First of all I said nothing of what I expect (I don't say that with animosity, I just didn't state it). I just grow tired of the same old catch phrases that get repeated and repeated. I highly doubt any manager, of any power, really cares what we say on here. Sometimes I hardly care. And also "manage our expectations". I think we're all on sufficient intelligence to think on our own. I always find it ironic the people accusing everyone else of "managine expectations" is the same one trying to push their own agenda. That's all

My only 'agenda' is contract restoration. Am I pushing that agenda... hell yes! The overwhelming majority of our pilots have voted for a 30-40% raise, which is close to restoring our contract. But yet, here I see excuses upon excuses on why that can't happen!

BLOCK HOURS ? Does that include DCI block hours?

Well, hell yaeah! They are up! But mainline block hours are down......

Alright I want to know, what work groups are nearly back to pre chapter 11 pay excluding senior leadership.

And how much more "efficient" the pilot group is now than pre chapter 11? Say a %.

I say this because I have a buddy who is on the south side, because of the new bucket system he flew 0 hours in February. 0. Just as we expected would happen for a good number of guys. Anyways, the neighborhood he loves in is full of Delta, most non pilot, who are rather outraged that he had a month "off." I've handed him plenty of or liners to combat the "and you guys want pay raises?" but the best would be to say, I just want what everyone else has- my pre chapter 11 pay!

Thats not what was reflected in the contract surveys.

You'd have a point if I had attacked sailingfun's views. Sailingfun stated that if we pilots signed a really great contract, then DAL management would have to throw a bunch of money at the other employees as well. That is false. Blatantly false. It's not a view, it is a blatantly false statement. When that happens, I call it out. That's not an attack.

I just can't imagine how a senior ER captain can get to the point in his career whereby he makes blatantly false statements in order to make the case for management as to why we will not see big gains in this contract. It's just incomprehensible to behave that way. And when you do behave that way, it is devastating to a union and unionism.

FYI the same thing happened to me under the old system. I had weekends off (which is the biggest factor) and sat 6 short calls, but never had to go to the gate.

SF,

Respectfully, I know what you are talking about. The majority of pilots I have talked with have their expectation managed. They tell me they dont think the company will pay us more than 15-20%. Kind of like a stockholm syndrome situation. They also mention that they dont think ALPA will go after much more than that.<---I dont know why they think this way??

I bet you the contract surveys would be much different if ALPA was gung-ho in their position for restoration plus inflation. Yet, Im not sure what ALPA's stance is in regards to our future pay (worst case scenario AF/KLM). So without sticking out one's neck, One would rather be mild in demands (typical average human quality)

Again, I am pro-ALPA. I am also pro-DPA. Im pro anybody that will represent the pilot group, wholeheartedly and without any "hidden-agendas". UNITY is important. What is more important though is that every pilot needs to know and BELIEVE that they are worth much more.

Go get em boys.
