Looks like you should make both flights.
Thank you!

Either that, or he's really good at guessing what Carl is posting.

That is so inappropriate to wake me up twice in the middle of the night for something I wasn't contractually required to acknowledge until noon! Argh....
This is the reason Delta doesn't have my home phone number, just my Cell, which is on the charger in the kitchen from release to report... They used to robocall me all the time, now I sleep right through it.

You have to admit that 88driver hangs it out far more than you or I do in a given 8 hour period. I do not consider getting a clearance from Gander all that difficult, but I am betting that 88driver is way more physically worn out at the end of a 5 leg day hubbin and spokin in +TRW weather than either you or I upon arriving at NRT or FRA... But I agree that each has it's own risks and skill requirements.. I just cannot justify in my little mind that yours is sufficiently more difficult as to warrant as much more money as you are currently getting.. But I guess because it has always been done that way...
You don't have to get your mind around it because that's not the argument. The only argument is whether my increased pay rate is justified based on revenue production...definitely NOT increased degree of difficulty.

I'm on long call reserve, which gives me a minimum of 9 hours to respond to a trip. I often sleep 9 hours, so if I shut my phone off I would risk missing that and also don't want to be surprised when I wake up that I have to be at the airport in a couple hours. never had them call be twice in the middle of the night before, usually it is one phone call.

I agree with tsquare. Pay banding (or some variation) may be the way to go in this new world of bad contracts, age 60..65..etc, KAL is going to fly the A380 into ATL as early as Jan (per yesterday's AJC), getting 737's to replace 757's, code sharing with everyone that has lots of big iron.

This list is stagnant, I have moved backwards every bid in the last 4 years. The time to save money and have it compound is as early as you can. This BS about, "one day you will be senior", worked in the Defined Benefit days, not in the days of mergers, contractions, code sharing and econoic uncertainty. It's time for (maybe, cant quite commit yet) one payrate for captains and one for F/O's. Out of a list of over 12,000, how may pilots are flying 777's and 747's? How many captain seats?

I am a pilot who was hired young (11 years ago) and will retire (health and company withstanding) in the top 20. We will need strong scope on both ends of the spectrum. From RJ's to the biggest equipment. I imagine the majority of pilots would make more $ in the long run with a change in the way our pay scale works. In sted of a few pilots at the top making the most money, we can bring up the majority even if we have to bring down the top pay a little.(all this after a hefty % restoration in the next contract)

Please forgive the spelling and gramatical errors..

They called me at 6:38 and my check in today is at 15:15, so that is more than 8 hours, but less than the normal 9 hours of rest. Probably still legal
