Dunno if anyone noticed this, but you recently (this week) lost another newhire FO to Southwest.

Yep and a few waiting for classes at a few other carriers.

They can court the communities but DAL has the corporate contracts locked up. MSP will probably always have a presence due to all of the fortune 500 companies there.

ATL is used to it that had the E-110 E 120, ART's and Saab's there. ATL4 noone :D.

Just last week one of the Lead 777 LCA's told me we were going to lose another 15 Capts. and 15 of the 765 as well.

Glad to see he was wrong on both counts!

Oh, it said "210 days" in the preamble.

Just goes to show you LCAs don't know crap! I'm sick of "...I had a LCA I my JS and he said..."

The 88 hasn't had north departure RNAV since, what, last fall?

Look at what Dal has been doing wrt to MSP.(not just the flying) This is not a surprise at all.

Note that DAL is being run by a NWA management team.

But, I'd place the blame on demographic shifts.

Do FO's still get a PIC type in the 737 for initial training?

BoyFromSouth 03-05-2012 07:51 AM

ATL is now a DC9 base 72 CA and 72 FO

Someone who wants to go to a category they can currently hold, but not get into because of the lack of entitlements... Bid the DC9, and when you get MD's you can go anywhere your seniority holds.... I'll bet it could go more senior than you think..
