No he didn't. He joined Delta and built up some solid 121 time while he waited for a proper paying airline that has management that wants to run an airline versus a ticket brokerage. He'll now be part of a union that values scope above all else, and have 100% of his union dues going toward his own pilots.
Smart move. Delta will increasingly be used as a training ground while awaiting SWA, FDX, UPS and the high paying foreign airlines. Get used to it. Management couldn't care less. Carl |

That should be a fun bid as well. I'm seriously thinking about ATL DC9 just to bite the bullet and take the free move down to the promised land. That's not a bad plan of action for a lot of guys. Take the move, get it paid for. In a year or two, before you have completed your lock in, there will be a MD due to the category closing. At that point, you can go anywhere you want that your seniority can hold. |

Rheostats and strain guages...oui.
The 200 + computers on the 320 are all windows based and use vista. They don't get hung up often. |

Good to see the upguaging. I grew up in FAY. I wouldn't necessarily recommend bidding it however. It's a big, crappy army town. I don't envy the ALPA hotel guy trying to find a decent place to stay there.

Of course my parents were closely related, so the Navy took me immediately. Unfortunately they were not siblings, so the Marines wouldn't consider me. |
Looks like a net -106 pilots in MSP. I see NYC MD-88B in my future...but I might be off reserve there. ;)
BTW, I've flown both the 73N and A320...from a pilot's perspective, the A320 wins hands down. Legroom, retractable table, simplicity, two jumpseats...just watch out for complacency. |

I find it interesting that the AE didn't go as briefed in the roadshows, ie there were no pull down in Whale and 777 specifically or super premium widebodies in general. I wonder what level (Richard or lower?) looked at it and figured the training events were too expensive.
I'm thinking there is much more to the story.......but I'll doubt we'll ever really know. Ferd |
