You gotta love it! Now with regard to the actual substance:

1. For at least the 12th time, I don't need to eat crow for a statement I didn't make. I quoted the Council 20 chairman who said in writing: "...and of course we will not be sharing the opener with the membership. That would be like showing your hand in poker."

2. After even a cursory glance at the MEC Chairman's letter, it is clear that the Council 20 chairman was correct. I'll explain in detail by quoting the key paragraph in a follow on post.

I've highlighted what you state the Council 20 Chairman said in his letter. Since you used quotation marks, I assume you were quoting the letter directly? In all actuality, that isn't anywhere near close to what the Chairman wrote in his letter on 10-17-2011.

Nice work at "paraphrasing" for "your own benefit", but just admit you were wrong in the "interpretation" of the letter.

If able, read the C20 Chairman's Letter dated 10-17-2011. It doesn't say anything remotely close to what Carl is eluding to. Fact is, Carl has misinterpreted the letter, and spewed his own agenda/intent on this forum and is now proven wrong.

I read Captain Tuckers pieces all of the time. Same for the other Council 20 officers. I also read C54's articles too. I would suspect that next weeks article from Art will be very telling and I suggest that everyone start reading his writing. All of their publications are now on their C54 site, as they now have a web master. Go take a read and see the case he has been building for the last few years.

Back to the subject though. I reread Tim's and Tom's letters to see what Carl will say. Suffice to say, what we will see is what the company is going to get. It is a conceptual opener. Those historically do not have rates etc on them, but more bullet points on sections we want fixed and where we want to be after the deal is TAed. Talking to my reps, they are happy with the opener and know that the pilot group will be too.

Lets wait and see what it is, and then get behind it. As Tim says, "The time for Contract 2012 is now!"
