I saw the email from the MEC, thought it was very good. I'm looking forward to the opener - it will be interesting to see how the hopes of all the pilots are converted into a contract opener.

This could be good news (and a pleasant surprise to me). But I'm waiting to see exactly what "conceptual form" means. I hope it means more than our MEC's previous definition of "substantial" and "significant." :eek:

On another note...

For those of you using Crossover with Easybid. I would highly recommend that you NOT install the new version of Crossover. I installed it last night (after receiving an email from Crossover suggesting I should) and it has been a complete disaster. Easybid is more difficult to use now (requires extra clicks to accomplish the same thing) and I can no longer upload bids (I get a message saying there is a problem with the PBS web site's security certificate).

Stick with the old version. I sure wish I had! :(

Two take aways:

(1) If Company is wanting to get this done sooner, rather than later, that implies they have a positive forecast and think a deal could be done cheaper now, than later.
(2) Or, they desire some sort of scope liberalization to get a deal done. That could be a small jet order, a fragmentation of AA, or something like Hawaiian.

FWIW, Hawaiian makes as much sense as Alaska, at a whole lot more favorable price point.

FWIW (note 2), it would not surprise me to learn the Reps are not completely read in on what the core of the MEC Admin has been working on. Not saying this is going on, just saying that a Moak style fait accompli would not surprise me.
