And why we need to look very hard at any rationale for lowering expectations on Contract 2012. Regardless of who it comes from.

It's not just a Delta problem.

And yet, if SWA can afford excellent benefits for Airtran's pilots, I think Delta can afford it for their pilots, too. Don't you?

It's not just a Delta problem.

I think it's an "unintended consequence" of the Affordable Healthcare Act - known by another name that I can't use at the risk of politicizing the discussion.

I hope someone is inclined to move that thing down to Atlanta before they close NATCO. That's a real piece of history, and there aren't a whole lot of those things around.

Same is true of a commodore 64, I'm a big fan of restore 'em, don't crush 'em, but a sim...really?

Our opener is complete and will be released in conceptual form to the pilot group next week. In addition we have asked the company to exchange openers next week instead of waiting the contractual 270 days prior.

I saw TO's letter. I was impressed. Cautiously optimistic.

Me too, and I am usually not. This might be a good sign?

Something is going on.

From the letter:

We believe opportunities exist, so today, your MEC directed the Negotiating Committee to meet with Delta management early next week to discuss opening the contract now with the goal of achieving a comprehensive agreement on an expedited basis.

And:

To that end, your reps will soon be in the lounges again and frequently for the foreseeable future to provide you with additional information and address your questions.

Scambo,

As a 777 guy I'm guessing you probably haven't been to NATCO...

In the front lobby is an ancient WWII era Link Trainer in beautifully restored condition. It really is cool.

I agree completely that it needs to be kept and displayed prominently.
