You should also negotiate minimum standards for newhire pilots in there. I don't think I've ever seen this before but it could be very beneficial with the upcoming "pilot shortage" / massive hiring / whatever.
All pilots hired at Delta shall have: Civilian background- 3000 TT, 1000 Turbine PIC Military flight training successfully completed- 1000 TT 500 Turbine PIC Or whatever you guys feel appropriate. Keep the standards high. That'll help combat a lot of downward pressure in the future. They'll have to keep wages high to attract the qualified applicants when there is a shortage of them out there. |

Contract Opener:
My view of the CO is that it was very stale, simple and nothing of substance. In all honesty, I think this is what it was supposed to do. Negotiations is an art and part of that art is to see who provides the first set of numbers, or who sets the ceiling. I hope the negotiating team/ALPA is very keen on this process. Imagine if the CO provided the numbers and the details? The whole process of negotiations would be negate. And as far as the hotel room requirements (sprinklers etc), those are just fillers. They have no substance for our process. We need to be unified at this point and talk to our reps. Airing our distaste on this board will only weaken our position. Fraternally, TEN |

Lots of talk about the Scope from this group, that's good. As of the last 44 meeting, mainline was down 50 airframes from the time of the merger. DCI is still at 255 70 seat RJ's. Thus, as a percentage the 70 seat segment has grown. I think that's probably the intent of the language, to put a cap on the percentage that DCI can grow, but who knows at this point.
Scope is very near and dear to me, but I'm surprised how many wanted to see re-capture of the 70-76 seat segment. I'm all for getting that flying back. But expect minimal contract improvements if that happens. I would take that flying back for no raise at all, most will not however. I'd be shocked if we ever get the 70 seat flying back to mainline.
