No - you cannot fly on any day that you used your APD on. You can however drop a 4 day trip by using your APD on only day 1 of the trip - the whole trip will drop and you can WS GS etc on days 2-4.

Reserve is obviously day by day.

Subject: No dues Withheld from 90-100% Deferral of Profit Sharing Payment to 401(k) Plan.

Basically ALPA is saying if I dont cough up the $ for dues from the profit sharing check that I put 100% into my 401(k) ( thanks ALPA for loosing my pension), they will start withholding the $ from my pay check.

Guess ALPA National needs to start collecting for their next meeting............. Where will it be this time............ Turks & Caicos?

Wow.

I wonder how much money was collected in all?

The rest of us paid dues on it. Why shouldn't you? And BTW it's "losing my pension."

I agree and encourage you to use all of the methods available to let your reps know that on no uncertain terms the way you feel. They need to know that the Dal pilot group is done with this sort of scheme.

What I am telling guys not to do is to get a helmet fire over rumors.

Every CRj with better than mainline economics is 11 or 12 Delta pilots that don't hold jobs.

So, hypothetically, a friend of mine calls his Rep and it is suggested that perhaps DCI gets limited to 355, 71 to 76 seat jets, which is shrinkage. ... he's impressed enough to ask me about it. I'll gladly share my answer, "that's 1,200 Delta jobs, gone."

Helmet Fire ? Not at all. When it comes to protecting our careers and families proactive engagement is certainly worth the effort.

Folks, don't forget ... YOU PAY ALPA ... YOU PAY THESE GUYS, you are the BOSS, they work for YOU.

IMHO, we've got a great group of Reps and a terrible track record. It is hard to trust where this is going, but, if we do our part to hold them to a high standard, I think they'll deliver just fine.

It is your device. My Android connects effortlessly to Delta.Com and dlnet.delta.com. Just don't do this while being one of the flight crew.

Great. I am in the same boat (elected 100% to my 401K). I guess I now have to write ALPA a check. ALPA is one messed up organization.

How were your dues not automatically deducted like the rest of us? And, if you're an ALPA member, what differentiates you from the rest of us?

If they deferred the income to their 401K, the computer that does payroll did not with hold dues.

They owe it, but writing a check from after tax funds to cover deferred income is ever pleasant from a cash flow perspective.

I'm curious, like... what?

Buzz,

You missed the rest of the e-mail. For people that put 90-100% of the profit sharing in the 401K there was a computer error in the Delta Payroll that FORGOT to deduct dues from your check. I never really paid much attention to what is dues payable/not. It's just like FICA - every dollar up to the max ($110,100) even if it's going in the 401K you still pay 6.2%. Over 110,100 you still pay 1.45% (no cap thanks to Bill Clinton's SS reform in 1993- the last one to FIX Social Security forever).

Bar, the company may want that, to me that is 202 more 71+ seat jets than are currently on property. I would be floored if that passed unless it took care of all of the other section 1 loop holes, and even then that is a huge concession. I know how I would vote.

I heard that "story" too. I am not going to get a helmet fire over it,but if a deal like that came out I would be very vocal if the deal was as stated.
