How were your dues not automatically deducted like the rest of us? And, if you're an ALPA member, what differentiates you from the rest of us?

I'm curious, like... what?
(1) Remind them that they had a jet sitting outside a gate (2) Remind them that jet needed an air cart (3) Remind them that another jet had no Maintenance sign off (4) Remind them a TO alternate was required (5) Remind them to have the gate close the flight so we could get our numbers, not once, not twice ... three times. While holding short of a runway, blocking a couple of other jets, with everyone burning this expensive Jet A. Not complaining, we are a team. Captain reminded me to get back in VNAV once ... my response "thank you" and if we'd had the time I'd had bought the beverage of his choice. |

Bar, the company may want that, to me that is 202 more 71+ seat jets than are currently on property. I would be floored if that passed unless it took care of all of the other section 1 loop holes, and even then that is a huge concession. I know how I would vote.
I heard that "story" too. I am not going to get a helmet fire over it,but if a deal like that came out I would be very vocal if the deal was as stated. |

I'm curious, so 355 70+ seaters in exchange for, 717s?

Management can buy all the RJ's it wants. We do not have to change scope for that to happen. |

The rest of us paid dues on it. Why shouldn't you? And BTW it's "losing my pension."

No idea. It is someone's rumor only and as far as I can tell not based on anything concrete.
Its not even a rumor. The company has not approached the union with any offers on scope or 717's or anything in the recent threads. The only real fact is that SWA has stated the 717 are not in their long range fleet plan and they will not renew the leases. Those expire over a period of time I think from 2017 to 2024. Phantom 717's in the desert ect.. were leased to a European startup airline and not Delta. They are gone. As I have mentioned before Delta starts the 100 seat rumor every time a contract is being discussed. I still don't think they want a two class 100 seat aircraft. |

Who knows ... (not I) But, if given the choice, I'd rather get the new CRj 905 than the 717. It has better performance and better profit margins. Flying an airplane that makes money is a good thing for job security.
