The 717 is 10,000lbs lighter than the A319, if you don't need the range it's no contest.

BR700 Series engines are used on Global Express and GV family, the new G650 also has BR700 family engines. Those jets are very dependent on the most efficient engine to gain maximum range...

Do you thing Gulfstream and Bombardier would both pick a fuel-inefficient unreliable motor for their top of the line business jets?

The BR715 has the largest fan diameter of the Br700 family with 58"
It is at least as efficient as the CFM56 or V2500 in the A319, with a smaller core and a higher bypass ratio probably more so...

Cheers
George

isn't everything ATL time?
Cool, so the start short call time theoretically includes the commute in. Didn't know that. Guess I shouldn't have skipped over all the reserve discussions on here

Ferd, not sure if you understood that correctly, so...

If you get a 1400 SC time, you can call scheduling and tell them that you are using your two hour commute, which means they will not be able to contact you during the first two hours of your SC, so in this case you don't actually have to be in SEA until 1600. But you will be expected to be able to report right away if they call you at 1600. I use it all the time...works great. Also, when you get two hours from the end of your short call, they will usually release you, if you call and use your sexy voice.

In honor of ftb and his observation of the 737's hindquarters:

That's right, Ferd. Make sure you call them to let them know you will be using it BEFORE you actually use it. I think you have to do it when you acknowledge the shortcall, or shortly thereafter. I also have been told by scheduling that if you use the 2 hour commute coming in that you will not be released two hours early when the short call is over.

I must have had the mean DC9 schedulers as opposed to the awesome 7er schedulers that NWAf16 had.

Why in the heck are you on reserve anyway?

I believe his 2 weeks of vacation kept him from getting a line since he's on the big bus. Couldn't find a trip to keep him inside the line value window.

Thats why in a vacation month you bid a RLL and then do an * pickup through PCS. It makes for a "nice" month.

talking about fleet repacements with the 717 and 319 what is the possibility of ever seeing the A321 in Delta paint?

I commute on the shuttle, and they always let me do the 2hr commute in and get released 2 hrs early. Never had a problem getting both.
