I wonder how many DCA and LGA slots the new AMR would have to give up b/c of anti-trust concerns.....
That would make RA's push for LGA swap pure genius.. I would not want to play poker or chess against RA. Additionally, Star Alliance would suffer a US domestic hit if the "new AMR" stayed in Oneworld. |
Was there something in their term sheet about 2 88 seat jets for every new mainline jet? Who would fly the 88 seaters?

WRT DL pilots, yes. What I was getting at was what if the APA caves and allows 88 seat C Series (with a nice sized first class thats about what the small one would seat) DL management will squeal like Ned Beatty that we have to allow that too. Outsourcing is, literally, a religion to them.
If they get the same pay (plus 3% even), for doing nothing, we have to have better scope, retirement, vacation, insurance, etc. |

Seems like Parker deserves some credit also. After all, US Air gained the DCA slots and cash by giving up LGA slots that would/will potentially be forced out due to a merger with AMR. Funny how all this is working out...

When the combined American/US Air becomes the dominant/#1 East Coast airline, how long until Delta goes after JetBlue...just sayin??

My guessing is that US would have to give up less now than they would've had to pre-slot swap. RA wasn't a "pure genius"... it was a good move for both parties involved.
The DOT, on the otherhand, will just screw the airlines merging. Doesn't matter who the involved parties are. I see what you're getting at now after I re-read it. LGA will be a non player. But I'm still thinking carnage at DCA. SWA is probably excited! |

Just my opinion, but I think they are going to have to give up quite a few DCA slots.

True on the LGA end, but what about DCA slots that they just recently acquired.... AA and US already have too many slots between them at Reagan...
What's next for DAL? AL, HI, or JB (to compete with the new east coast #1) |
