Man, does anyone else get called for jury duty religiously every year without exception? Meanwhile, my wife had never been called. Another eight hours of brainless wasted time. The court's wifi was even down. Insert ice pick into forehead.......

Buzz, it's the irony of life: Those who don't get called (I am one of them) have this idealistic scenario of getting called in for a dramatic murder trial involving a love-triangle, while those who are called speak of it as a penance they've been subjected to for some unknown sins they've committed in their past. But don't fret, I'm paying my dues by making the mandatory third visit (more can not be ruled out) to the hardware store for more parts for my extended sprinkler system installation.

Thankfully, I didn't get called to serve this year, just sit around all day like a dumbass. Last year I ended up being the frikkin foreman for a civil case where the guy was suing Home Depot for falling off a ladder that he'd put up incorrectly. He didn't win but that was three weeks of my life I'll never get back.
