True but they has turned down a TA in the last decade. Again what scares me is why would DALPA bring us that TA and push for it.
That doesn't bother me. What bothers me is the sales job where everything is roses and concessions are downplayed. This is where being your own best expert is important...If you dont read it how can you know if its better or not? |

For the same reason every MEC brings a TA, they think it is the best they can do.

They passed the TA when we merged.
If you (Express Pilot) are basing your hopes on some cobra DNA, you're going to be disappointed. I realize this is going to feel like some sort of NvS statement, but I'm pretty sure the fact is that both groups have been willing to a) try to save their company from bankruptcy by giving till it hurts, b) giving again as they screamed in BK, and c) giving some more in the merger. And it's not even unique to our two airlines: everyone worked out their voting calculations the same way, from UsAirways, to United, to CAL, etc. You can try to convince yourself all day long that salvation has come from the North, but it actually comes from within. In fact, the greatest NvS contributor is precisely the advocacy of the notion we're somehow different, when we're probably very much alike. Which means you've got to do the hard work, and ask yourself how it is that every TA passes, despite failing a mood test on any internet forum. The obvious answer is that the real pilot group isn't as agressive as the virtual, internet pilot group. Step one in bridging the gap is not treating everyone that doesn't agree as a tool. Read some of the responses to this post, for a perfect example of what not to do. Ready? |

Give them a record SLI. On a 40% paycut, pensions gone, work rules slashed, scope and they think that was the best they can do? Come on
Make no mistake, the MEC during that time was scared to death... |

They can afford to fly those 380's all over the world, at 50% capacity, with the price of jet fuel in the Middle East. :) What is it up to now, $0.50/gal of Jet A?
Add insult to injury, isn't EK subsidized by the Royal Family/Government? I'm unaware of this fact, just asking out of curiosity? GJ |

I don't need to be preached to. I will vote no unless 20% and scope changes. I'm saying a TA comes and everyone you fly with says it won't pass and it passes. Example why did we vote in the last TA after we got NW. It was the same TA we just got and DALPA told us we would get a better deal once NW was with us and DALPA brings us a TA with the same stuff with just minor gains. Green Slip and SC from 8 to 6. Vote that down. Its passed. Thats what scares me.
