Really enjoyed the ride today, guys: Mildly curious surprise followed by rising expectations, nearly climactic exultation followed by doubt, rumor, innuendo and general depression slowly coming to a halt in post BK reality.

But, tomorrow is another day! Maybe the Negotiator's Notepad guy will hit "send" by accident in the middle of the night. :D

Tonight I go to bed with the hope that RA and DALPA aren't stupid enough to send us a crappy deal at this juncture. It would be the biggest labor blunder in history.

Good luck to us all.

I'm not trying to sound condescending, but maybe we should all chill out until some actual facts are presented. Then we can complain and threaten to vote it down.

Absolutely. But why interject any logic when this show is so incredibly amusing? Pour another martini, and watch what is going on. Nothing has been released other than pure speculation and rumor, and the high warble spin has gone to new heights. Truly amazing. And sad... but in a strange way, very funny.

I agree 15% per year would be acceptable........;) 5/10/5/5 will pass the over 55 crowd but for the younger bunch there will need to be more in order to pass.

I'm just curious.. does the "younger crowd" still subscribe to the productivity model of pay rates and scales? If so... then please explain the logic behind that "thought" process......

There really is no way to spin these numbers to a positive. There is no way it passes.

Unless this is the expectations game, manage lower then come in high. Makes the unacceptable look great! 15% in the first year? Sounds bad unless you're expecting 12%.

FTB.. you buying into this hoobiestank? Come on man.. I thought you were way more intelligent than this. These rumors are nothing more than a bunch of hooey..

Just wait and see what happens and if we get the TA then we can dissect it.

FIIGMO 05-15-2012 07:38 PM

I hear!!!

I hear the TA is out and I was not surprised about all the optimism on APC, of course countered by, well you know the "other crowd". Frankly, both are good in my opinion. But I decided to hang with my kids and catch their ball game and cheer from the stands with my wife. It was good for the soul!

Just peeking in on the goings on, (sort of like a train wreck) still optimistic and hopeful we will stick together and make the best of a bad situation. We just may be surprised!

So I will have a beer in salute to all professional pilots tonight. We deserve it!

:)

Because 5 years from now we will *still* be 5 years away from the next TA. Giving up scope for a COLA plus, maybe, a few percent, and giving up work rules and staffing just to get a full or partial COLA is insane. That's like saying "the profession is over, this is as good as its ever going to get, we have to trade scope and work rules for a COLA and let's just run out the clock because woe as me the RLA is suddenly stacked against us."

Ain't buying it.

If that's the case, just ditch the union and hope for the best. Paying for a COLA is something we shouldn't even be considering on an academic level much less actually passing on to the membership to vote on. Gees.
