They do both depending on need. Both have their upsides. If the Captain has been on the airplane, that's a plus. However, he's probably not going to want to study flows with you, etc ....
I'd prefer FO-FO for initial since you can concentrate on FO stuff and help each other. After you are familiar CA-FO works perfect.

But he was a GREAT CA. If you get paired with crotchety old bastard that thinks a newhire could "sink" him and considers it a liability, may not bode so well.

Any feedback from Tuesday's class?
I know there were 8 candidates like usual (7 male 1 female) but unsure of the results. I spent some time with them before and after the day's events but had to leave before the results were given. The 'waiting for the results' period at around 3:00-4:00 pm after all the testing and interviews are complete is soul crushing!
I was lucky enough to receive the conditional job offer on Monday! (F/A-18/2100hrs TT/ ~1700 PIC/~800 IP)

They started out as 2 crew but a fire put the ki-bosh on that. The jump seat gave you major butt-hurt. The radio rack made sure you were always comfy at 100 degrees F. You are right, it is a "7" [speed brake handle, center console.] Main gear was speed brake, used for the canyon approach. I still have some Dalmatian like shirts somewhere......

I've heard from the guys going through it's the customer service questions that are tripping guys up. You have to prep if you've never held a CS position before. The interviewers are asking questions like, "what do you do if you don't have a product that meets the customers needs." The prep'ed guys are answering, "I would find an alternative solution that best meets the customers needs", etc. The other guys are simply saying they would apologize.

I don't think he meant anything more than the time between your last event of the interview process to the point they let you know that same day. We're talking 15 mins to 1 hour in most cases.
