based on the spreadsheet that's going around, here are your totals for all classes thus far:

By equipment:
96-MD88
75-717
73-A320
36-73N
36-7ER

By Base:
147 -ATL
154 - NYC
15 - DTW

That's a total of 316 aircraft spread out among NYC, ATL, and some DTW, and 252 pilots is the exact number confirmed to have started class thus far through 5/19. I think the extra aircraft are either due to holdbacks, errors from collecting the data, or a combination of both.

It has been covered for sure... but may I please ask again? If an applicant for Delta is asked for additional information, is this Good? Cheers H

Not really good or bad. It means the applicant in question had their record reviewed. Once reviewed the records are sorted based on competitiveness. Since the record is incomplete it probably will not be sorted until the missing information is provided. I guess its good in the fact that a lot of records have not even been reviewed yet.

Thanks for that info, that helps try to get a better idea of the current size of the pool. The spreadsheet showed 277, and my source had 252, but 299 it is! Based on that, the current pool is just about going to dry up in the beginning of July. So seeing as it takes about 8 to 10 weeks from interview to "cleared to train," are they going to have to slow hiring back down after July just to allow the background checks to clear?

Off the street pilots who interviewed this week were told to expect a class date late July or August. Delta is holding back some flow through pilots because they are needed for the summer flying. Good luck to everyone.

I suspect they will speed up the checks!

Bid posted today for 310 new hire positions. 210 in ATL with 25 ER slots. The rest are distributed with 40 737, 50 717, 80 MD88 and a few Airbus slots. The bus has been getting bid by pilots already here.
