I thought the reason senior folks bid reserve is for something else... stationary lightning

No, that's so hard to pull off. Guys bid reserve because they get paid to stay home, for the most part, and avoid the crappy trips. If the plug is getting a line, there's your sign.

Studying for my Delta interview, I came across this question. Cant really pin point an answer.

What is the proper pilot action at V1 engine cut?
a. *spoilers, brakes, reverse
b. *brakes, spoilers, reverse
c. *spoilers, reverse, brakes

Leaning towards C, but not sure.

Also, for those that have already interviewed, are all the gouges out there pretty close to the test? Thx

I've seen different companies teach different things but my thoughts would be A because you use spoilers to put maximum weight on the wheels, then brakes because thats the most effective stopping power and then reverse which isn't included in the calculated distances.

B.

Buried in an FAA article on high speed aborts is a reference to the importance of immediate max braking. Might be this one: https://www.faa.gov/other_visit/avia...off_safety.pdf

Good luck

But you don't get anywhere close to max braking without spoilers...

Thx for the article. B would be correct. Direct quote:
"Exact measurements of the time taken by the pilot to apply the BRAKES, retard the thrust levers to idle, and to deploy the SPEED BRAKES are recorded."

I've read a few books getting ready for the interview.
Naval Aviator
Mental Math for Pilots
Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge
Checklist for Success
and a few others this past month.

Im going to Atlanta in a couple of weeks. Im now trying to narrow down my studies. For those that have interviewed recently, are the gouges pretty similar to the actual test? Or have they changed the questions bank?

Trying to find out what spend my time on this next week.

Thx for all the help again. This is a dream come true. If they dont hire me, at least I tried my best.

Good luck!

Don't forget to take your jacket off…but only if you sit in the working chair!
