Delta Hiring News
#4951
85 new-hires a month until April 2015, continual hiring thereafter. This was just announced along side the early retirement of some 747-400s.
I think you will get what you want. There will be pilot retirements, new aircraft and some growth. Enjoy.

Good info however what fleets would this even be beneficial for since very few fleets even have an inter phone? Still amazes me that airplanes even come without an inter phone. Got to love yelling call outs to each other.

What parking of jets and what plussing up?
I don't think the 747 announcement will effect short term forcasts for ATL narrowbody FO reserves at all.
The 737 is growing of course, which helps, but its several pay steps above the bottom and ATL is a much more senior base than most on average. While its possible to get a line quickly in it, it will almost always take a lot longer than more junior equipment. Besides, the 717 is growing at a faster rate anyway.

Even if it has an inter phone most don't use it if it also doesn't come with a spring loaded button.

Same on the 320. We can get 5-day domestic trips and junior guys get all the really long, crappy 5-days over the weekends. I bid reserve just for that reason.

Yes that can definately be the case. There is a very good reason why some seats go so "out of seniority" junior. So to speak.
