They sure do. They rank where you went to school, what you studied in school, how long it took you to get your degree in school and most importantly your GPA. Each school and degree is ranked but good luck finding out that information. They keep all that a secret but I think you can probably figure out which schools are ranked highest and which are ranked lowest. It's the middle of the road schools that you have no idea how they are ranked. I had a friend who talked to AK and he said "you didn't go to the online school, did you?" So I don't think Delta ranks the online education as high as others.

Everything Flycameron said is correct. They also grade where you received your flight training. Did you go to an Aviation university, Part 141 flight school or Part 61 flight school.

Remember to add detailed information to your AirlineApps about your job history.

Is this because they can look at good records for a bigger school? I didn't even go to a flight school for most of my initial. Like many current pilots at majors that came from the civilian world, I did my flight training with various CFIs that were local and it was good training, I never went to any school. But other than logbooks there was no scoring or anything and not really verifiable. Delta is my #1 choice so I wish I had known that in hindsight but not much I can do about that today. I did one or two ratings at flight schools, and my ATP at an airline. Should I list any of that in education?

I did all my flight training Part 61 and in a flying club. I finished my degree at "the online school". I was 25 when I finished that degree and attended 3 colleges between 18 and 23. I had no family members and 2 internal recs from First Officers. Not everyone goes to Auburn, the Academy, flew Air Force One, or has parents that can foot the bill for ERAU. Normal guys do get hired at Delta after all the whiz kids are hired.

FYI DAL is very big on aviation colleges that are accredited by AABI. If you or anyone that you know is considering an aviation college and wants to come to delta, they should have a close look at that. Not many school have that accreditation. All the civvies I know hired this yr went to a school with that accreditation.

When were you hired? Things are different this go around. I know the scoring matrix they used was not used prior to 2010.

I'm sure it had nothing to do with the Krispy Kremes you brought to the interview......

With the emphasis on education I have a question.

A few years ago I worked at a FAR 121 major airline that has since liquidated. Although it wasn't Delta, we did our training at Delta since my airline didn't have it's own simulators. Since I already passed Delta style training, should I put this in my education section as a FAR 121 school or just put my airline employment info in the employment section (where it is now)?

I've been in "fix it" purgatory for about 9 months.
