Because there are not many military pilots anymore, who can fly manned aircraft, coming through the pipeline. AND, because AA/UAL/Alaska/Hawaiin/FedEx/UPS, etc., etc. will all be competing for them. When the pie gets a LOT smaller, and there are a LOT of people eating the pie, there's not so much for each person!!!

UNLESS DAL decides to pay something like 50% more than everyone else, then they can get most of the mil pilots that are still licensed for manned aircraft.

What makes you think those two are unrelated?

NYC, ATL & DTW occupy the last 2 pages of our overall seniority list. We're adding Boeing 717's to ATL & DTW.

Maybe 10 years or so.

2. what are junior bases ?

NYC, DTW, ATL

3. ease of commute out of DFW ?

Difficult. There are 1,400 Delta pilots and flight attendants who have parking passes in DFW, leftover from the time Delta had a base there over 10 years ago. I usually commuted on American due to better availability.

4. new hire airplane is ?

Boeing 717 and MD-88.

Thanks

De nada.

Within the bottom 50 on the June list, there is NYC M88, NYC 73N, ATL M88, NYC 7ER, and ATL DC9.

I'm sure some of these will be converting to the 717 soon. It would not be illogical to assume that you'll see newhires go to the 88, 717, 737, and 7ER. Perhaps the 320, but that for whatever reason goes a bit more senior.

6-packs belong in a fridge or an abdomen, not in a flightdeck so I don't fly a DC-9. I also don't fly anything smaller than what I already fly, which means it can only be NYC 7ER for me. Will Delta work with my special needs?
