The interview invite was a result of your app score (from your first internal rec) becoming the top of the gene pool. The second rec did not get you re-scored. The hiring process is extremely objective and procedurally scripted...the result of lawyers protecting the company from liability in hiring practices.

So there's no point in staggering them out if you have multiple recs?

Will a tier 1 hire be allowed to fly with tier 2 candidates if they have to start hiring those types? I guess if I was a type 1 candidate I would feel a little uncomfortable flying with a tier 2 or 3 new hire. Maybe they can start up Song again and keep them as separate groups for liability purposes.

Why would they be flying together? You might need to worry about flying with me. I'd probably be a tier 3 guy if hired today.

Don't worry, you're probably tier 3 like the rest of us...

No doubt, I can't wait in a few years when the list of what they look for in a Tier 3 candidate comes out.

Hopefully just an average pilot, with an average wife and with average kids that leads an average life that comes to work, does a good job and has fun. Come to think of it, that sounds like the majority of guys I have flown with over the last 17 years.

I never knew there were so many superstars in the airline industry. Just how many line check airmen, chief pilots, astronauts and military guys are left to hire?

9E is still getting a lot of the new hire slots. Seems like most the non 9E new hires are either Military of Tier 1 civilians. Good luck all.

For my own education here: I have searched this thread and see multiple references to Delta tier 1/2/3 applicants, but little concretely defining them.

I did attend WAI last year and the Delta presentation there and remember many (but not all) of the criteria Delta prefers, but really cannot remember any mention there of the 'tier' system. Does that system really exist, or is it something invented on APC? If it really does exist, any pointers on figuring out where you fall?

Default Moving between tiers

I've had my application in for a couple years now with general qualifications. A couple months ago I became a line check airman and updated my application to reflect this. My last internal recommendation (sent to the email address) was made a month before becoming a line check airman. Is there a way to get my application re-scored capturing my latest position or do I need to wait a year to have someone submit a recommendation again?
Thanks!
