I know of a couple 24-25 year olds. Some were Captains and some were FOs. I also know someone hired below 3,000 TT with 300 121 TPIC @ 27 years old.

No military. Most had volunteer and company positions. Well networked.

I was 37 when I started and non military. Surprisingly looking at the seniority list I was one of the "young ones" in my class.

The "age window" was not very wide in 1979. I was the second-oldest at 30, and the only civilian in our new-hire class was the youngest at 25.

I was on a Skywest jumpseat last weekend and the Captain, an LCA, said that it takes approx 4 months from putting LCA on your application to getting an interview invite from DAL. They have a waiting list to become an LCA and its a revolving door. Take that for what it's worth.

I've heard the same about SW LCA. but I am living proof that it is not a requirement - even for a low time civilian like myself:

Delta CJO

121 regional captain (recent upgrade)
TT 4,700
SIC TURBINE 3,400
PIC TURBINE 108
no checkride fails ever
0 internal recs
Airline App letters of recommendation from Delta pilots: 4
2 speeding tickets (BOTH MORE THAN 7 YEARS AGO)
1 Juvenile stupidity arrest (did community service & learned my lesson)
WIA 2015 NGPA 2016
one fix-it email FEB -2016 (neglected to update my medical date)
BS aviation degree - 3.9 college GPA
moderate volunteer experience

Interview Prep: AeroCrew and RST

Just trying to also find out what to expect if I had an email sent for me this month. How recent was this information for you? Thanks
