Does that system really exist, or is it something invented on APC? If it really does exist, any pointers on figuring out where you fall?
Yes it exists. Nobody who can describe the tiers is talking. I had someone in the know on the jumpseat recently who said we've been calling Tier 2 candidates now for a while.

Quick question for the group. I have heard a lot about internal recs getting the app pulled to be scored. Should an applicant publish the app before all the internal recs go through airline apps or just publish and update once the internals are submitted? Thanks!

Is there a way to get my application re-scored capturing my latest position or do I need to wait a year to have someone submit a recommendation again?

Thanks!

Someone told me recently that if there is a significant change to your app then someone can send another email in highlighting those changes and get it scored again. That was hearsay so take it with a grain of salt.

So what you're telling me is that I'm tier 3?!?

It's my understanding that there are actually 4 Tier's. Your app can score from 1 to 100 and every 25 points is a Tier. Rumor is they will never call anyone in Tier 4. When they score the app they don't take points away from your overall score but look for things to give you points towards your overall score.

Doesn't matter what your tier is unless someone gets your app scored.

I guess I need to update my resume to say I'm a tier 1.

Make sure the app is absolutely 100% ready and published before they send in the rec. Don't rush to get it done. Do it right because of the 1-per-year rec/score. Lots of rumors about how to get multiple scores, but if you have a 100% app on the first time, it won't need to test that theory.

That's an applicant having their rec scored once per year?

And, do you know if there is an unwritten suggested maximum frequency of a current pilot sending in a recommendation for applicants?

One rec a year? One rec every six months? One a month? Obviously one would not want to dilute the meaning of their recommendations, but I'm sure many can also think of more than just one or two people to recommend, and if they all meet the competitive interview minimums, then . . . ?
