Yep. One of my buds got the invite last week. No interviews in April. So his choice was in 2 weeks or July. He is bearing down and taking the early, that's almost 4 months of line numbers.

Anyone know what the current training pay is? Looks like it was $2750/mo back in 2008. Also, do you continue to receive it if there's a break between indoc & a/c training? Hotel-wise, only indoc is covered, correct? Any perdiem? Finally, first year pay kicks in after IOE, correct?

Not sure if they frown on it (you could let the agent at the gate know they've got another seat), but why risk it? If you travel on your own and the flight cancels or if a Delta guy or FAA guys shows up, you're scrambling. Take the free seat, relax, and good luck with the interview.

Overall last year the average pilot credited 89 hours a month. As a new hire reserve 1000 hours a year would be a reasonable assumption. There are however lots of variables. Will you live in base or commute? Do you want time off or more pay? How is the manning in your category? In 2009 as a example almost everyone saw a down year as flying was reduced. If you work the contract and are willing to put 15 minutes a day in checking open time ect.. You can do very well. One good green slip a quarter can add 150 to 200 hours a year in pay.
