717 growth ramp rate
Anyone know the ROT for how many aircrew per A/C are required? With Delta taking on 88 717s, it seems that would require a good number of folks. Watching the 717 drops so far showing 2 to 4, sometimes 6. Is that something we'd expect to see increase a little in the coming months? Grateful for some insight, thanks.

Don't think it's a training backlog
I think the are just waiting for AE for CA on the 717. Going through training now and most instructors don't like fo/fo training.

Guys that finished the sim in late JAN/early FEB are just now going to OE. I think some of the furlough recalls and new hires have gone through a little faster as they benefit from the quicker consolidation of knowledge - not that everyone's proficiency doesn't suffer after a few months on the bench.

Keep in mind that the PWA prohibits a line pilot from getting assigned an E period. Only new hires and OALs training in the sims can do an E period. I would expect to see FO/FO new hires in there in the future. The lucky ones will get paired with a captain and get the A-D periods.

E period sims are only allowed for new hires. The backlog however is not at the sim level. It's at the OE level.
