It's the same hat just a slightly smaller circle and it sits a little lower.

Everything else I would get from the vendors except maybe a belt and shirts.

If you are a OTS guy coming from another airline, just use your current shirts. The Abbots shirts suck IMO. pilotshirts.com will get you better shirts for way less money if you know what you like already.
Crew Outfitters and M&H each carry a low profile hat with an oval soft band. They are significantly smaller hats than any of the traditional hats I've had in the past. My last hat was a Premier; these are better.

The M&H and Crew Outfitters are different model hats but nearly identical. I bought both and decided to keep the M&H because it didn't stick out at all at the temples. Its less expensive too. I'm a fan.

Disregard This question has been asked! Looks like a nice loafer will work, smooth leather no designs

If you are a nostalgia buff, the Delta uniform shoe was the Allen Edmonds "Jodox". You could always tell 'de bro's' on layovers. I think they still make them. I think if I were still working I would have a pair just to be secretly "cool." [Goggle the Edmonds catalog not a bad looking shoe.]

Stopped torturing my feet with Deerstags earlier this year and went with Ecco's. One of the best uniform moves I've ever made, FWIW. Spend the $120. A good investment.

Sorry if this was already covered..

Is there a uniform allowance? How much per year? Which vendors accept it? Can you do a payroll deduction? Estimated cost of a uniform for new hires?

They were almost too nice for walkarounds in the nasty stuff on the ramp. I thought 727 S/Os needed a pair of Red Wing clodhoppers like farmers wear to clean the barn.

I have a pair of Allen Edmonds; very expensive and extremely uncomfortable despite being broken in.

I tried on Ecco's; also extremely uncomfortable.

I bought a pair of Nunn Bush Bleekers for $60 and that solved the problem. If they wear out, I'll order four more pairs for the price of one Allen Edmonds.

No, NA, NA, Not sure (I think it depends on the vendor), probably $400 to $500 for a decent one.

They are high quality for sure. They have been my main go to wedding/funeral/interview shoes for quite some time, yet I've never broken them in. I couldn't immagine wearing those on a narrow body 5 leg, 5 airplane, 3 concourse 30 minute turns kind of day though.

Absolutely. The other hat(s) flat out SUCK. This is the ONLY hat you should be looking at IMO. If you go with a package from a vendor that doesn't offer the Premier hat, they will most likely credit your order if you tell them you don't want the hat they offer. I think at least one vendor and perhaps two offer the Premier though anyway.

I would be very, very careful about trying this, however.

The female hat looks more than a little German Officer-like. The different isn't slight, its pretty significant. If you are going to go that route, it might work if you are rather small (both short and skinny, not just one of the two) but even then I'd caution anyone to really look into this before actually doing it.

Or you can just put "avoid legs to/from ATL M-F between 9-5" in your bid and you'll never have to get a hat ever.

I keed.

Sort of.

No, I keed.

But you could.

But don't.
