Agreed. Especially since it will probably be much later than August before the recent CJOs get a class date.

According to the training guys, they just hired some more sim instructors. They were even training some new people in the speed line cafe this past week to handle all those hungry pilots/fa's. I honestly believe they are still trying to get the training "machine" up to speed. Once the support system is there, look for class sizes and possibly frequency to increase.

Can any of the current Delta guys comment on when we might hear something about an increase from the currently projected number of 300? Is there a budget meeting coming up or something we should be excited about? Seems quiet on the home front other than rumors and some additional instructors being hired.

With all the anticipated flows, etc. and the lack of backfills - it seems like it might be a long while for us OTS CJO guys/gals.

Thanks in advance.

What is a CJO? For what it's worth, don't look for DAL ever to "announce" greater than 300 in a press release that can't then be twisted by the analcysts on Wall Street into a Capacity orgy. They simply will allow the hiring to continue unabated. We need to hire 50/month for the next 10 years just for attrition....let alone ANY expansion, which we are clearly in the process of in Seattle.

Restarting and then maintaining hiring is an incremental process...just like anything. I expect 50/month by summer ad infinitum. Of course, you want to be on the front of the wave, but the wave really is just beginning to build 1/2 mile from the shore. Be patient...The only reason I can say that with a stern face is because all of us in front of you have to be patient while we wait for you to get here.

Living in base is key too. We can't all get hired at the beginning of the wave but if you live in base vs commute you can hold day trips or sit reserve as long as you want or take a junior captain slot that no one wants because they commute. I think this will be an exciting ride to anyone hire in the next 5-7 years
