Oberon: You started here on March 3rd, and you are still on probation. You've been to Delta training in Atlanta exactly once (on the 7ER, no less), and you already "don't like going to Atlanta for training" and think it would be good if you didn't have to go "as often?"

For real? Or is that just a DALPA talking point?

Either way, your credibility is officially in the ****ter.
OK. You got me. I can't wait to go back to Atlanta for training.

You clearly have done your homework on me. Did you also dig up that I've done initial training on five airplanes in the past ten years? Is it possible I'd rather be paid than go to training?

You have spent a lot of time on a throw away example illustrating a small example of a bigger point. DAL 88 Driver asked me what my strategy would be and I answered. Feel free to do the same.

Nothing goes up forever. There was a downturn in 1981, 1991, 2001 and...it's over due.
OK. Then I don't want that. I'm honestly not a contract expert. My larger point is that there are proven methods of negotiating and saying "restoration" isn't one of them.

I got sucked in to PD's vortex.

FWIW, that's been my experience.

The importance of well defined goals

Define your goals

The importance of specific targets

For your goals to be useful, they must be specific and clearly defined.

Specific goals include the following examples:

I want to gain 50 new incoming links by the end of the month
I want to gain 100 new forum members each day
I want to make $100 a day in advertising revenue

Non-specific, and consequently worthless, goals include:

I want to be successful
I want to make money

No, your ideas aren't strategies, just posturing.

Well said T. Lots of keyboard warriors. I've yet to see any one of these guys step up to the plate and volunteer!

Yes. The children's section will refer to you that way every time you disagree. That and they will use the phrase "cost neutral" when they have no factual argument.

I don't see the step where you make up an arbitrary goal then tell the forum members.
