That depends on the semantics though. Hey, you keep your 240….BUT….anything over 14 days requires all kinds of verification, etc. Oh and even those 14 can require verification if we (the company) and we alone determine its "suspiscious" and we define suspiscious but trust us we won't abuse it, that's why we need complete power over it.
Now, about that profit sharing...."

FYI I communicated with my rep ref: some of the crazy rumors - ie the "proposed" SLOA policy, the LCA issue and pay.
He stated that in his opinion the MEC will not give up our 240 (+) hours sick leave.
He stated that many many rumors on the forums are way off....but he said he would not address each one as the LEC agreed that would take too much of their time.
He also stated they plan on not budging from the 23G LCA issue with the FO removal.
Lastly he stated that once the negotiations are coming to a close, some items will change quickly as they look at value.
I'm not a DALPA lover but I have to believe they wouldn't sell us out like the current rumors say....

"Oh, and we'd like to use a third party vendor to validate sick leave. To be chosen and paid for by us. Their expertise is harassing you, bogging your down in paperwork, and making it generally impossible for you to verify your sick leave without jeopardizing your FAA Medical. We'll need your medical records to verify anything, and once we have them--since you waived your HIPPA protections when you agreed to the contract--we can forward them to the FAA if necessary. But don't fly sick.
Now, about that profit sharing...."

Try going out on an injury and just see how the third and second party vendors treat you.

Guys,
This is a cut and paste from the other DAL thread:
Gentleman,
You all seem to be forgetting something very, very important. If we drag out this negotiation we can not only expect very nice profit sharing increases, but we will also receive annual pay raises.
We just received a .55 per cent raise - not much but remember UAL and AMR have contracts with raises coming for the next few years. Don't forget the little known codicil (thanks Dean Wormer
) in the DAL Pilots contract that matches the average pay of AMR and UAL.
Now that average just passed barely us, but each year they get raises so it wouldn't surprise me if we get a 2-3% raise every year even if we are parked.
No need to rush anything boys. Either we hit a grand-slam or we wait it out enjoying pay raises and increased profit sharing.
Happy Memorial Day!

Those raises are not annual or automatic.
They only occur if and when management gives pay raises to the other employee groups.
Even then, we only get the lower of the two metrics.

Well that is true, but in my opinion the risk of the other employee groups unionizing will way strongly in our favor.
