Take a look at the geography on the Arabian peninsula and where the Gulf states and their mega hubs are located. Then take a look at what is going on in Yemen and what has now started in Saudi Arabia.

In addition half the population of the Arabian peninsula is under age 25. Not sure how long they can keep the masses happy. Time will tell.

Imagine that. A union with the stones to step away from the table, and wait for the right deal for its pilots.
Once again, we find ourselves in a leadership position, and apparently are setting another low bar, continuing (maybe cementing?) the permanency of the BK reset.

Hope I'm wrong and there are great surprises in this TA way beyond what is being reported... but it sure doesn't sound like it.

Oh well, if we (as a group) still think what we do is so much less valuable in THIS environment, then we will be getting what we deserve.

Are we going to take the Air Canada 190's or is this just fodder to get the TA passed A?

That's pretty funny. Jumpseat on them and see how they feel. 3 years plus past amenable date and company wants a flattish contract. They're a great company with great people but SWAPA invented working with management (as some so often complain about here) and signed a 10 year contract once. 3 years past and they just formed a SPC. Yes a real "union" waits years for someone else to do the heavy lifting.

I don't think it was "stones". It was just common sense to see what we get.

Their union isn't panicking to meet the CEO's artificially condensed timeline in the best negotiating environment we may ever see.

I'm happy to wait RA out for the right deal.

Ah. SPC. A three letter combo we'll never see from "our" "union" as long as the current junta is in power.

Who cares? Shouldn't make a difference when voting on this TA. If Delta management wants a fleet of 190's (or 717's) they can go get them whenever they want.

Are you ready to wait 3 years like SWAPA? Time is money. How much are you willing to spend? When they finally get an agreement, back that money up to the amendable date and see how modest the raises could have been to replicate the same performance. Math is good in that way, it cuts through the BS and shows that maybe "stones" aren't as valuable as some folks on this board make them out to be. Maybe we can get a nuetral's opinion and ask American and US Airways pilots about "stones" and how time and money passed them by.
