Here's the first carrot.

Just so you know... don't let this influence your vote. I was made aware of the intentions to get more 739s months ago...

Per the article they are replacement aircraft, not growth aircraft. They are coming with or without the contract.

"Delta will also order an additional 40 new Boeing 737-900ERs, augmenting an existing order of the efficient and reliable aircraft to 140 in total. Delta plans to deploy these aircraft as replacements for other narrowbody aircraft scheduled to retire through 2019."

I think a wise RJ pilot would dump every jet for a Dash 8-100 and a quick ride from there to here. We need to stop throwing DCI's fleet a lifeline but yet we keep expanding that fleet.

Makes no sense and it's 100% our fault for saying yes over and over again.

This Sir is a complete failure by ALPA to develop a national airline pilot policy that looks forward more than one contract at a time. There is no long term strategy. Senior guys within ALPA serve management while serving themselves.

Actually had a former rep tell me that's one of the reasons the change to block hours from EASK is a good thing. The company won't be able to be in compliance with the current language so we need to change the language. I was stunned.

16. If we vote NO on this TA the company will still be in violation of our scope JV clause and we can grieve it again. That ought to be worth a percent or two! :)

What was the breakdown of the vote?

Hank Kingsley 06-10-2015 08:56 PM

This is how it's going to play out. It will be damn near impossible to sell this TA to the pilots. So, you're going to be told the downside of returning to the table. The gloom and doom of mediation, etc. It's going to be fear tactics, not a sales job.

It's already begun. Fear tactics, covering up dissent.

This is my prediction. After seeing how toxic this agreement is to the pilots, management will walk back a couple items and insert another to take it's place. The union will again repeat "this is the best deal you will ever get and no way is it getting better, take the deal now!". Some will cave. Others will patiently wait for the right deal even if it includes the traditional contract negotiation track.

The question is, can management get enough votes to reach that illustrious 51%? They were smart to ask for the sun, moon and stars (in collaboration with their ALPA sales team). If they throw a couple bones back and get to yes they still knocked it out of the park. Not exactly the same but reference the CDO walkback exchanged for another hit to reserve call out times.

Gee-zuuuz. This is exactly what I was thinking. As for me, I'm done...DONE. If that's how little and stupid they think of me, then fine. I am completely content to stay on this POS contract we have until they choke on it. And choke they will. Add up all the give-backs they want................... I'm content to ride it out until they REALLY want a deal. I, for one, will vote to wait it out:

Nothing said guaranteeing these are growth a/c instead of replacements?

edit

asked and answered....

The really sad part is the DAL pilot group has all the leverage now, not the other way around. Guess what? The suits in the penthouse suites don't think you guys have the collective guts to use that leverage. Look at your TA. They are laughing at you. Daring you. And sneering at what they (rightfully?) perceive as a completely neutered DAL pilot group.

Makes me sick just thinking about it. Filthy scum-sucking multi-millionaire mgmt leeches.

i like this guy!

Channel the anger into targeted strategies.

1. Recall as many YES voting reps as possible
2. New MEC removes all MEC committee chairman and most admins
3. New MEC administration publish a proper fact-based pro/con paper on this TA.
4. Membership will absolutely vote it down if given unbiased analysis.
5. Offer new negotiations to begin immediately, secure in the fact that for the first time, foot dragging HELPS us and HURTS management.

if we don't do this FIRST, nothing else matters. If this passes, the career you knew will never be the same. Whoever represents us will be meaningless.

Carl
