It's not incompetence tex. These guys are VERY competent. They're all very smart and driven people...they're just not working for us. This has been strategically planned and tactically developed for some time now. This MEC administration is 100% convinced that we won't defy them.

It's CRITICAL that we recall YES voting reps and purge this administration. They don't work for us. They never have.

Amazing. The new negotiators notepad uses Delta's "estimated earnings" to juice up the pay comparison with profit sharing.

Remember C12? DALPA refused to speculate on Delta's future earnings during that sales job.

Whose side is DALPA on? Not mine.

No, it's all the other FO's that are affected by the trickle down effect and the ones that will be bumped to reserve because that WILL happen.

I've received 6-8 (I've lost count) communiques from DALPA and every single one only talks about compensation. Can you blame him for fixating on the money?

It's the only decent thing in the whole mess. That's all they want to talk about.

For the group having an extra month at 8% pay raises will also help with profit sharing pay outs for FY2015 next FEB.
Is anybody taking this guy seriously? He's telling us the reason the vote time is being compressed is to get us more pay sooner? The biggest opportunity since bankruptcy to improve our contract. Records profits with an earnings call quickly approaching. A contract riddled with concessions and dubious switchbacks.

And this guy says the reason to rush is to get that money flowing sooner. As airline pilots, does that make sense to any of you.

Professor, do you compress the time for your checklists and skip your departure briefing at an unfamiliar airport because you want to start getting paid sooner?

I haven't been posting here much. I've been playing over in ChitChat Land.

The SL 3 year retroactive look back is disturbing to me on many levels. I just don't get why you (DALPA) would permit punishment for behavior that is contractually legal in the previous contract.

I didn't pay attention to the number of sick days that I took in the last three years. I can't tell you how many days I took. What I do know is I never exceeded the 100 verification hours, ever.

Under the proposed TA, if I have 14 days, this activity will result in my having to verify my next sick call immediately. I don't have any records. I wasn't required to keep any. Potentially, I will be in this purgatory for three years before my record would be cleared. I can't get a cold, the flu or food poisoning.

All this to punish less than one percent of the group. What about the 99% that played by the rules? Retroactivity usually results in a check, not a punch.

could not have stated this more clearly. Stay out of my private life!

Well, I am hoping my last few conversations are indicative of what will actually happen. Spoke to at least a dozen yes voters from the last contract and all of them, including a 58 year whale guy were all fired up . Seems the QOL items, FO bidding, sick time and low pay rates with PS give were the main heart burn items.

Time will tell……

A road show including the recommendations of the MEC wouldn't hurt, and it would be telling if those who own the TA actually think it stinks.
If a rep doesn't have the courage to do what his constituents want, then he should step down. His constituents also have the obligation to recall him if he did indeed go against what his membership desired.
