I called the 330 office to get the numbers. There are 37 total check airman in the category and the training department throughput is 24 pilots a month. Pilots need 4 or 6 legs of IOE to be qualed depending on background. The average leg is 8 hours.

I will be delivering my request for a recall letter this Wednesday at the roadshow.
If You cannot attend the LEC meeting for recall give someone your proxy. Each pilot can carry and vote 3 proxies. |

It's the only way forward. All the admin and yes voters must be recalled or resign.

Jumped on a 717 today. CAPT/CAPT--OE...both drooling on themselves over the pay rates. I think we're toast

Actually, neither is right. This is mainly about dividing the pilot group...which is the hallmark of a Ford & Harrison Union busting campaign. The B Scale is in there to make the E190 crews angry with the rest of the pilot group for voting YES. The pulling of FO trips is in there to make FO's angry with every other captain for voting YES. The JV scope concession is in there to make crews that fly Europe angry with everyone else as they watch their flying go to smaller and lower paying gauge.
It's a three way win to get three different groups angry with one another. Classic industrial psychological operations. Carl |

Bump. I'll ask again. Where is the B scale?
In ALPA's early days they were faced with how to increase pay on Jets. Due to their speed would automatically be more efficient. There was a formula that they came up with that included range, speed and passenger count. No all anyone focuses on is the passenger count. It is true that the B717 carries 10 more people, but the new RJ's (we shouldn't really even call them that)... the new 100 seat jets have the same speed, the same approximate seat count, but fly farther. Do you know why we removed the range qualifier in the DCI contract? not be cause it was redundant. It was because they want to fly routes like DTW-YVR, and ATL to Small markets in Mexico. The same routes that others already do with their connection jets. |
