So the latest "Letter form the Chairman" just plopped in my email in box. Apparently "social media" is good when the MEC can use it, but not when anyone has a dissenting viewpoint. Shutting down the FB page when the TA was being discussed not make perfect sense.
It also included this little nugget: And the Delta pilots need the opportunity to consider this agreement without being inundated with simple, yet continuous falsehoods or attack. So I guess the roadshows will be canceled too? :p |
The reason everyone is screaming NO is there are so many reasons to scream NO. I think that's why we are so upset. We were expecting so much more. We thought that after the jcba and the 2012c we were finally going to reap the rewards of a healthy company.

I'm a 717A and plan on voting no. However as someone riding HIS jumpseat I think it rather arrogant and presumptuous that you felt enabled to lecture him or anyone else about the TA, unless he started the conversation (which he may have).
Also I take "jumpseat wisdom" with a grain of salt, ever since back around 2000 we had a jumpseater upset about RJs trying to convince us that every flight from ATL less than 500 miles would be flown by RJs within five years. That would include from ATL to TPA, MCO, BNA, JAX. Didn't quite happen that way did it? (and yes we have had and do have too many RJs in the system) Carry on....... |
They must be experimenting with the FO B awards since they're not out yet. Pulling trips to see how the LCA pulls will work when the idiots vote this in.

Social media is a double edged sword.
Many live on these boards. The conversation usually go down one path with no dissent. Some may argue MEC comm is the same. Those are both fair assessments. Just as a thought experiment, how valid would this board hold anyone's opinion who was a firm yes? Would they be heard? Would they be shunned, derided and told how stupid they were? Would they be accused of being a DALPA plant? Food for thought only. The group on here claims they are being sold on a TA. I would submit that there is very little room for debate with all the screaming no. Again, if anyone has any questions or concerns the reference TA and other materials are available on the dal.alpa.org contract pages. Thanks. As a firm yes voter your post is 100% spot on. I don't mind a debate as long as it stays factual. This forum as so many false statements it's becoming like a cult. And folks wonder why they never encounter a yes voter and Contracts pass 60/40 |

Could you share your rationale as a yes voter? I'm truly attempting to glean what about this TA is good enough to trump the negatives. Is it just the immediate 8% or fear of being in long term negotiations. Or something I'm just not seeing. Not being facetious, would like to know. thanks for your input.

Here's why I, personally, think some pilots SHOULD vote YES on this TA:
Feel free to print this out and distribute it to whomever you'd like. |

Purple, maybe your points would be seen by more people as valid and logical if you didn't harangue them. |
