Council 1 (MSP) has released the most comprehensive review yet regarding the goods, bass, ugly, and unknowns.

To me, the cvr fo reps was the most useful.

Intersting however that it is a closed group, but the VAST majority of their 50 members are not Delta pilots. The Facebook page against the TA has over 1500 members, all of them Delta pilots, and also a closed group.

Carl
Most of us are Delta pilots and 49 out of 50 are against it, we just wanted to see why anyone would vote yes for thos pos.

The Council 1 letter is a MUST read for any one that is even remotely considering a yes vote... young, old, new or veteran.

For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction...

What do you suppose Delta will do when the sick leave investigations result in huge numbers of disability claims because of what they discover in reviewing the medical records? What are the projections for the growth of the SIC category? How many more pilots will the company have to hire due to lost medicals? Will the unintended consequence of reducing sick leave actually cost more in disability and lost productivity? There will be far fewer staying til 65 with this level of medical record intrusion.

If I show up well for a trip, but suddenly develop (insert random illness) on the flight to XYZ, is it an OJI claim? Is an illness during a rotation handled differently than a sick call prior to sign in?

Pre C2012, I flew with a captain who should have called in sick. Under C2012, I'm sure he would have used his sick leave. Under TA2015, I would expect he would have made the same decision as pre C2012 and flown sick. The result of not calling in sick was a hospital/Dr visit in a foreign country, Intl DH for a replacement Captain, a fantastic layover for two FOs who spent the extra time buying their own beer.

I ask because I had my Drs. sick form "denied" twice already...
That is the game the company is playing. They parse the words with a razor and in one instance "denied" my sick leave because the signed and dated Delta sick form from my in-network Dr. that said I was sick and the prescription medication filled were "not specific enough for stating the nature of the illness in general terms"
After many phone calls with the Delta sick leave admin, my LEC rep and Contract Admin nothing got resolved.
ALPA contract admin said the company was right and I should find a new Dr. that will fill out the sick leave form to the companies' liking.
In the end my only recourse was to speak to a Flight Ops manager in person. He was finally able to put the sillyness to rest.

Knowing that's how Delta parses our PWA sick leave language, I am very concerned with the new proposed contract language.

Cheers
george

Well I had the opposite experience. I have been sick once since the change in 2012 and I got a printout from my doctor and faxed it in and that was it, so your mileage may vary. I understand it's a pain in the butt but I think that's the idea. We used the honor system for many years but now it's clear that's not working and people are cheating the system. I would put the blame on the cheaters that are screwing this up for everyone. Talk to a line check airman to find out about how hot Anderson is about sick leave, then you can get an idea on whether or not there is an agreement to be had in the near future without changes to sick leave. In the end, I just don't see a motivation for the company to dig into all my personal records. They just want you to prove you are sick because lots of guys are lying about it now. The fault is with the liars.

Please point me to the evidence for this. I don't even care if it's convincing...just evidence, please.

Thanks--I was convinced that was an FTB joke. Nope, just a joke brought you to us via FTB. Too funny!
