Details on Delta TA

C'mon Jerry, don't you see the irony here? You throw that in the punchbowl, with no evidence that any of it has ever been uttered by management, and say "trust me... I know this to be true." The exact same thing you rail on the MEC and management about.
I totally agree about the CDO thing. Totally. That was waaaaay out of bounds. I don't agree with what happened with the profit sharing thing either, except that that is more a function of bad timing rather than bad intent. If DAL were breaking even, I guarantee you that you (and probably I) would be singing a different tune about it. But I have become much more of a student of investing in this industry and I personally feel that we are going to be making a profit for a long long time (DYODD however, your opinion may differ). SO for this upcoming contract... and that is as far as I am willing to commit... I will take the PS risk.
Please... stop the torch burning.... I am interested in what you have to say if you back it up with facts and not innuendo and speculation.

The track record for CDO's ("SDP's") in this industry is clear. Guys like them and bid them because it allows them to be home every day and do whatever it is they want/need to do. They do not sleep during the day. The only sleep they get is whatever sleep the CDO provides. There may be rare exceptions to that, but the track record is clear that the vast majority do exactly as I described. Operating a flight (whether it's a short flight or a long flight) on maybe 3 or 4 hours of sleep in a 24 hour period is UNSAFE. Period.
If we ever get these horrid things, I will not sign the release to operate that morning flight. If I can't avoid the trip, I'll be forced to call in fatigued for the morning flight. Do you really want to put Delta pilots in that position?

Your "agenda" is to throw as much spaghetti against the wall and see what sticks. It's fine if you have a legitimate source to come on here and throw this crap out... and you may very well have one, but if you think your word on this constitutes any kind of legitimacy in it's own right, you are delusional.

The reality of pay banding and longer freezes is becoming more apparent.
Reduced profit sharing will as well.
The only way to stop this is to get the word out now, just like we did with CDOs.

Why would you post all that when it has nothing to do with the discussion? The discussion is about whether the C2K opener was ever released to the pilots. It absolutely was. That's not in dispute. It was not "just conceptual", it was detailed like our NWA openers were. Now this union REFUSES to do that, just like it refuses to ever release survey results.
But I did find this portion of your linked post interesting:
---------------------
...For the first time, Delta pilots realized that they were not alone in their willingness to act in a unified manner. Acting like a union was no longer unthinkable for Delta pilots as over 1200 pilots participated in the picketing...
...Management was getting nervous -- the pilots were acting in a truly unified manner.
...Polling numbers showed that the number of pilots willing to go on strike and shut down the airline was skyrocketing. In the spring of 1996, just prior to signing on to the concessions of Contract '96, barely 20% of Delta pilots were willing to strike for any length of time. Just over four years later, over 95% were now willing to strike "for as long as it takes" in order to achieve an industry-leading contract.
-----------------
There's no question that Delta pilot "have it in them." This was proof. But now our union has been completely co-opted by Delta management. I don't know if we can muster the effort to force our union to behave like a union. The recall of every ATL rep would be a great start.
